CFISD Student of the Week: Lonnie Leary
Cypress Springs High School senior Lonnie Leary is applauded by his coaches and teachers for being a star on and off the football field.
School: Cypress Springs High School | Age: 18 | Grade: 12
Accomplishments: Leary is a three-year football letterman, was named the Cypress Springs most outstanding linebacker and has earned second team All-District 16-6A honors. Leary also holds perfect attendance and is an honor roll student.
Favorite class: “Astronomy is my favorite class because I get to learn all the stories about space.”
Favorite things to do after class: “Listen to music, hang out with my friends and play football.”
Favorite song: “I like all types of music so it’s hard to just pick one.”
Favorite website/app: “Instagram, because I like to keep up with my friends and keep up with news stories.”
Favorite TV show: “Regular Show, because it takes me back to my childhood.”
Favorite movie: “Cars, because it also takes me back to my childhood.”
Ambition: “To be able to make it to the next level of football, college and the NFL. I want to be the first one in my family to do it.”
What topics/things are you passionate about?: “I am passionate about football and being successful in the NFL.”
What inspires you?: “I have to say the underclassmen that look up to me. They drive me to be better and do better.”
What three things can’t you live without?: “My phone, my car and money.”
