Cy-Fair High School freshman Jade Williams is praised by her teachers for being kind and helpful.

School: Cy-Fair High School | Age: 15 | Grade: 9

Accomplishments: Williams Tech Theatre teacher, Skylar Chapa, applauds Williams for constantly going out of her way to help other students in need, especially LIFE Skills students. Williams is authentically herself and encourages other to be the same. She is involved in theatre on campus and takes bass guitar lessons outside of school.

Favorite class: “My favorite class is Tech Theatre because I have fun in the class, can build relationships with my friends and I’m excited for the projects we are able to do.”

Favorite things to do after class: “I like to participate in the after school theatre program and play bass guitar.”

Favorite song: R U Mine by Arctic Monkeys.”

Favorite website/app: “My favorite site is Pinterest because I like art and can pull inspiration from it.”

Favorite TV show: “My favorite show is Good Omens because it has a great cast and interesting characters.”

Favorite movie: “My favorite movie is Coraline because I love stop motion animation and the storytelling was well done.”

Ambition: “I want to go to NYU and study film. I’d like to become a film director after that and start my own production and directing company. I want to study film because it combines both visual and performance art.”

What topics/things are you passionate about?: “I am passionate about anything related to art: music, film, theatre and visual art. I like creating because it helps me express myself and truly be who I am.”

What inspires you?: “I am inspired by Tyler Perry as a filmmaker. He owns his own company and gets to act and direct. I am also inspired by my bass teacher. He is well rounded and can play almost anything by ear. I want to be that good one day.”

What three things can’t you live without?: “I can’t live without my twin sister, she knows everything. I can’t live without my family because they never judge me. My parents take a big interest in everything I like to do and are always happy for me. Lastly, my phone. I mean I’m a teenager.”
