CFISD Student of the Week: Abigail Davenport
Salyards Middle School eighth grade student Abigail Davenport is applauded by her teachers for being involved on campus.
School: Salyards Middle School | Age: 14 | Grade: 8
Accomplishments: Davenport is a member of the Salyards eighth grade “A” volleyball team and her club volleyball team recently placed fifth at nationals. Davenport is also a member of Salyards Symphonic Winds Band and plays flute. She was named a region band member during her seventh grade year.
Favorite class: “My favorite class is science because it is a self-paced class.”
Favorite things to do after class: “I love to practice volleyball, play the flute and play with my brother after school. I also like to rest because I have to wake up early for volleyball practice.”
Favorite song: “Anything by Taylor Swift!”
Favorite TV show: “I love The Office because it is so funny and it is always on TV.”
Favorite movie: “I love Legally Blonde because it is empowering to a female. It is also really funny!”
Ambition: “I would first like to attend Texas A&M University and then I would like to design race cars for Formula 1. I love it and I’m very passionate about Formula 1.”
What topics/things are you passionate about?: “I am passionate about volleyball and I hope to play in college one day. I am also passionate about playing the flute as well as following Formula 1 race cars.”
What inspires you?: “I am inspired to do better when I see there is room for improvement. I’m driven to work harder to grow and become better.”
What three things can’t you live without?: “Blue Bell’s Cookie Two Step ice cream, my car, Murray, and volleyball.”
What are you most looking forward to this semester?: “Playing volleyball and making all A’s!”
