CFISD Names Inaugural Principal for Elementary School No. 58
Dr. Renee Silliman, principal at Hemmenway Elementary School, was named the first principal for CFISD’s 58th elementary school on Jan. 18.
Elementary School No. 58 is under construction on Clay Road in Katy and is set to open in August 2023.
Dr. Renee SillimanShe moved to Cypress-Fairbanks ISD in 2009 as an assistant principal at Lee Elementary School, spending six years there before serving as an assistant principal at Francone Elementary School for two years. Dr. Silliman was then named principal at Hemmenway in 2017.
Dr. Silliman earned her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and Master of Education in Educational Administration from the University of St. Thomas. She earned her Doctorate of Education in K-12 Leadership from the University of Houston.
“I am so excited and honored to be able to serve as the first principal of Elementary No. 58,” Dr. Silliman said. “I’m looking forward to building a positive culture and community with our students, staff and families. As I will continue to say, 58 is great!”
