CFISD Board Adopts 2023-2024 Budget, Increasing Salaries for 12th Straight Year

The Cypress-Fairbanks ISD Board of Trustees adopted the 2023-2024 budget in the amount of $1,209,131,955 during its regularly scheduled meeting on June 20.
The general fund budget includes local revenues of $619,370,494, state revenues of $423,808,208 and federal revenues and other sources of $27,341,180. CFISD’s total revenues amount to $1,070,519,882.
CFISD plans to provide raises for all staff for the 12th consecutive year. The district’s 2023-2024 budget proposal calls for:

a salary increase of 3% on the greater of midpoint or base for all staff; and
- an increase in the teacher starting salary from $60,500 to $62,000.
In addition to payroll and other administrative costs, the 2023-2024 budget proposal provides for additional campus special education staff, increase in benefits and TRS, increase in insurance premiums, increase in utility costs, operating costs to open new facilities and other miscellaneous increases.
