CFISD Appoints Two New Assistant Superintendents to Support Campus Leadership
Two longtime Cypress-Fairbanks ISD educators have been selected to step into new district leadership roles, marking a notable shift in the team supporting principals and campus staff across one of the largest public school systems in Texas.
On August 29, the district announced the appointments of Stacie Everson as Assistant Superintendent for Elementary School Administration and Ana Martin as Assistant Superintendent for Secondary School Administration. Both bring decades of experience within CFISD classrooms, offices, and leadership programs, with professional paths that reflect the district’s internal cultivation of leadership talent.
A New Advocate for Elementary Leaders: Stacie Everson
Everson, who most recently served as principal at Salyards Middle School, will now oversee elementary school leadership across the district. She replaces Irene Ruiz, who transitioned earlier this summer into the role of Chief Officer for School Leadership.
A familiar face to many in the CFISD community, Everson has spent all 29 years of her education career within the district, beginning as a math teacher at Arnold Middle School. Over the years, she has held a range of campus and instructional leadership positions, including academic achievement specialist, director of instruction, assistant principal, and principal at multiple schools including Birkes and Moore Elementary. She assumed the principalship at Salyards in 2024.
Her work as a cluster leader and principal mentor, along with her completion of the CFISD Leadership Academy, points to her investment in leadership development and collaboration.
“I am truly honored to have the opportunity to serve our amazing principals and campus staff across CFISD in this new role,” Everson said. “Together, we will build on the CFISD Path to Amazing—empowering each other, inspiring our students, and leading with purpose.”
Everson holds degrees from Texas A&M University (B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies) and Sam Houston State University (M.Ed. in Administration).

A Familiar Leader for Secondary Schools: Ana Martin
Meanwhile, Ana Martin—formerly principal at Cy-Fair High School—has been named the new Assistant Superintendent for Secondary School Administration. Martin began her CFISD career more than three decades ago as a classroom teacher at Cy-Fair High and has since held multiple leadership roles across campuses with diverse populations.
Her journey includes time as a mentor teacher at Cypress Falls, assistant principal and director of instruction at Cypress Ridge, and principal at Kahla Middle School before taking the helm at Cy-Fair High School in 2017.
During her leadership at Cy-Fair, Martin guided the school through demographic shifts while maintaining strong academic outcomes and campus culture. She participated in leadership programs through Rice University and the National Association of Elementary School Principals, among others.
“I look forward to supporting our students, communities and principals in strengthening the culture of excellence that defines CFISD,” Martin said.
Martin holds two master’s degrees—one in Educational Psychology and one in Administration—as well as a bachelor’s in Secondary Teaching, all from the University of Houston and Sam Houston State.

Community Impact and Continuity
While the roles are changing, both appointments represent continuity within CFISD's leadership pipeline. Their deep institutional knowledge, shaped by nearly six decades of combined experience, could prove valuable as the district continues to evolve amid growth and educational change.
For residents, educators, and parents across Cypress, these transitions are not just administrative—they’re part of a broader story of who is shaping the learning environments children encounter every day.
