Gettysburg has partnered with family owned Best Trash, formerly Residential Recycling and Refuse Trash Service (RRRTX).

Weekly Service Tips
- Please have bins out by 7;00 a.m.
- Recyclables can be placed out in containers that are clearly identified with a recycling emblem. Please contact our office if you need a recycling sticker to identify your containers.
- If you need to bag your recyclables, we do require 100% transparent recycling bags for safety purposes.
- On windy days, place your light weight recyclables in 100% transparent recycling bags and set it in the recycling bin (this prevents items from blowing out and across the yard and street)
- If your trash and recycling services are on the same day, please place your recycling at least 6 feet away from your trash.
- Lids can remain on plastic bottles or be removed and placed in the recycling.
- Please rinse any residue from containers
- Please breakdown any medium and large cardboard boxes
- Please remember we cannot take any type of Styrofoam products (packing peanuts, cups, plates, egg cartons, etc)
- No need to separate items – everything goes into the same recycling bin
Acceptable Items
- Paper – magazines, newspapers, copy paper, phones books, junk mail, etc.
- Plastics # 1 – #7 (No Styrofoam) – juice, water, milk, sods, detergent, cleaners, RX bottles.
- Glass – any color glass, must be pure glass, cannot be ceramic, mirror, pottery stoneware or china type items.
- Aluminum & Steel – any type of soda beer or drink cans. We also accept any food can, pet food can (no aerosol containers). Please rinse out
- Cardboard – boxes, cereal, food, detergent, pet food, etc. No grease-stained boxes or containers with food.
- Thin plastics – such as grocery store bags. They must be placed inside another bag and tied closed. (NO LOOSE BAGS).

Unacceptable Items
- Biohazard Waste
- Medical Waste
- Pesticides/Chemicals
- Styrofoam of any kind
- Food Encrusted paper or cardboard
- Electronics
FYI: No Trash or Recycling Service will be provided on Christmas Day
- Service will run as normal on Saturday, 12/23/2023
- Service will run as normal on the day after Christmas, Tuesday, 12/26/2023
