North Houston  /  West Houston / Cypress
April 23 2026

For many families in Cielo and across Conroe, summer planning often comes down to one big question: how to keep kids active, safe, and engaged while school is out. This year, the City of Conroe’s Camp Fun Quest 2026 is stepping in once again with a structured, high-energy program designed to give kids a summer they’ll remember—and give parents peace of mind.

Hosted at the Oscar Johnson, Jr. Enrichment and Recreation Center, Camp Fun Quest blends supervised care with hands-on experiences, field trips, and social interaction, all within a trusted City of Conroe Parks and Recreation environment. With spots filling quickly each year, early registration is key for families hoping to secure a place.

What Makes Camp Fun Quest a Go-To Summer Camp in Conroe

Important Policies Every Parent Should Understand

To keep camp running smoothly and safely, the City of Conroe has outlined several important guidelines:

  • Arrival and Pickup: Camp begins promptly at 9:00 AM; late arrivals cannot stay for the day. Pickup must occur by 6:30 PM.
  • Attendance on Field Trip Days: All campers attend field trips—there is no onsite supervision available for those who opt out.
  • Swimming Participation: All campers attend pool time, though non-swimmers can participate in supervised activities poolside.
  • Weather Preparedness: Camp operates rain or shine, with indoor facilities available as needed.
  • Dress Code: Closed-toe shoes are required for safety during activities.

If a child becomes ill during the day, parents will be contacted for pickup, and campers must be symptom-free for 24 hours before returning.

Financial Assistance Available for Qualifying Conroe Families

For families within Conroe city limits, financial assistance may be available to help cover program costs. According to the City of Conroe Parks and Recreation policy, eligible households may receive 20% to 80% assistance based on income and household size .

Applications must be submitted with full documentation at least one week before the program start date, and assistance is reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis.

This effort reflects the city’s broader goal of making youth programs like Camp Fun Quest accessible to more families across the community.
