Camden Park Brings Family-Friendly Green Space, Events, and Dining to West Houston’s Westchase District

April 30 2025

In the heart of West Houston’s Westchase District, Camden Park has officially opened its gates to the public—offering 3.5 acres of beautifully designed green space, engaging programming, and dynamic amenities for all ages. Located at 2951 Wilcrest Dr., Houston, TX 77042, Camden Park is quickly becoming a top choice for families, fitness enthusiasts, and visitors looking for free things to do in West Houston.

The park operates daily from 7 AM to 9 PM, with structured programs and guest services available from 9 AM to 8:30 PM. Whether you’re seeking outdoor workouts, a relaxing place to read, a safe playground for children, or live music on a Thursday evening, Camden Park offers something for everyone—free of charge.

A Park Built by the Community, for the Community

Camden Park represents a powerful collaboration between the City of Houston, Westchase District, and a long list of generous corporate and philanthropic donors. The City purchased the land for $2.4 million, while Westchase District contributed $12.1 million from its 380 Agreement to develop the site. Donors like Camden Property Trust, H-E-B, Phillips 66, CenterPoint Energy, and others helped close the final $3.2 million needed to complete the park and transform it into a regional destination.

Named in honor of Camden Property Trust—the primary donor—Camden Park officially celebrated its grand opening on April 12, 2025.
