Burger lovers on the West Side of San Antonio have something delicious to look forward to. Burger Boy, a San Antonio original known for its nostalgic menu and fast-casual charm, is opening a new location at 2304 Loop 1604 S, right off Marbach Road. Construction is set to begin in February 2026 with an anticipated grand opening by late July 2026.
The new 2,410-square-foot Burger Boy coming to Marbach will be built from the ground up, with $1.1 million going into the project. It’s just the latest sign of how much the brand continues to grow—and how strong the love for Burger Boy still runs in San Antonio and beyond.
A Local Legend in the Making
Burger Boy first made waves with its retro vibes and commitment to made-to-order quality. Though the name might suggest a simple burger stand, this local chain has become a hometown staple since opening its original location in San Antonio. Over the years, it has expanded to serve communities across the area while staying true to its roots: fresh, flavorful food served fast, with a side of classic Texas hospitality.
While other fast food chains may focus on mass production, Burger Boy keeps things local, fresh, and community-focused—traits that have helped them earn a loyal fan base in a crowded burger scene.

Fries come in three sizes, with an option to load them for just $1.50 more. Diners can also add jalapeños, bacon, or real Kraft cheese for a custom experience.
And no trip to Burger Boy is complete without trying their famous shakes, available in nostalgic flavors like Big Red, Fruity Pebbles, Oreo, and Chocolate Chip—plus their specialty Dreamsicle Shake and crowd-favorite Orange Freeze.
More Than Just a Meal—It’s a San Antonio Tradition
Burger Boy’s story began in 1985 with a single location on St. Mary’s Street, where it quickly earned a reputation for serving up classic burgers with a side of local pride. Over the years, the brand has held onto its old-school charm while steadily growing to meet demand—now boasting 10 locations across San Antonio.
As a homegrown business, Burger Boy has become more than just a place to grab a bite. It’s a beloved part of the city’s culinary identity—reminding residents of simpler times, neighborhood pride, and the comfort of timeless flavors. Their dedication to local ownership, made-to-order meals, and friendly service continues to set them apart in a city that’s constantly growing and changing.
With this new Marbach Road location on the horizon, Burger Boy is expanding its reach to even more parts of San Antonio, making it easier than ever for West Side residents and commuters along Loop 1604 to enjoy one of the city’s most iconic burger experiences.
