Bridgeland Graduate Among Texas FFA 2024-25 State Officers

The Texas FFA has announced new state officers for the 2024-25 school year, and a Bridgeland High School graduate is among them.

Newly elected state vice president Augustus Mushinski (Area III) will be representing the Bridgeland FFA, during which time he will balance college studies with VP responsibilities.

“As a state officer, I have the wonderful opportunity to reach the lives of new and potential members who are looking to join the FFA,” Mushinski said. “The first thing I tell them is that this organization truly has a home for everyone. No matter your interests or skill sets, the FFA has a place for you to plant your roots and grow.”

Mushinski is one of 12 recent graduates who will work as leaders and representatives for the nation’s largest state FFA association, with memberships exceeding 177,000. The officers were elected from 12 area associations and many leadership responsibilities for the coming year.

Guiding the team is President Hunter Lawson from Paradise FFA (Area IV) as well as First Vice President Thomas Barton from Shepherd FFA (Area IX).

Serving as a state officer is considered one of the highest honors within Texas FFA, this role allows students to be an influential voice regarding agricultural education and leadership programs across the state. Working closely with the Texas FFA board of directors to develop strategic priorities and policies for the association.

Texas FFA continues to inspire and empower young leaders in agriculture and beyond by giving students the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge to real-world experience through local, state, and even national competitions.

“FFA has truly changed my life. This organization has given me the skills to be successful in all aspects of my life,” Mushinski said. “Whether it’s in the academic or professional setting, the skills I have earned from the FFA have given me the opportunity to soar to heights I didn’t dare dream of.”
