Bridgeland Goes Wild at the 14th Annual Nature Fest

October 27 2022

It’s finally fall, which means it’s time for Bridgeland’s wildly popular event: Nature Fest! Join us on October 29, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. when Bridgeland transforms Oak Meadow Park into the largest — and most fun — outdoor experience. Bring your family and friends for a daylong adventure, learning about some of the mammals, reptiles and amphibians that inhabit our earth.

Headlining this year’s Nature Fest is the renowned zookeeper Jungle Jordan. Since he was 11-years old, Jordan Veasley has cared for animals. Starting as a youth volunteer and working his way up to zoo keeper at the age of 24, the wildlife educator and content creator now uses social media to share his enthusiasm for all things wild. He incorporates humor into educational videos to make it fun to learn about the animal world. He’ll share his knowledge, advocating for the conservation of wildlife and for diverse audiences to get involved in animal care.

Our area of Texas has its share of wildlife. From land animals to fowl with a bird’s eye view, and fish that swim in our lakes, the ecosystem of Bridgeland supports a myriad of wildlife. You might even spot an armadillo, jackrabbit, turtle or snake when walking our nature trails and along our lakes. Each year through Nature Fest, The Howard Hughes Corporation and Bridgeland help us to expand our knowledge base by bringing celebrities like Jungle Jordan to entertain and teach us about some of the animals that inhabit our area and some from more exotic places, too.

Nature Fest is a day chock full of family-friendly events. In addition to a full lineup of stage performances, you’ll find a kids’ inflatable zone, kids’ craft activity, outdoor laser tag, face painting and balloon art, crafts, pony rides, a petting zoo and more. There will be plenty of opportunities to snap a few photos for your Instagram story, capturing memorable moments of the day. You’ll find an assortment of nature exhibitors and nearly 20 food trucks will be on-site for guests to enjoy, including Cuda’s Milkpot, Funnelocity, Heffernan BBQ, One Fat Dog, Nitro Creamery, Quaker Steaks, Roco’s Grill, and Skye Café.

“Nature Fest offers Houston area children an opportunity to learn from some of the world’s most sought-after wildlife activists and engage with animals they wouldn’t typically have access to,” said Lona Shipp, Director of Residential Marketing for Bridgeland. “We are thrilled to have Jungle Jordan headline this year’s festivities and believe that he will impact so many people in our community. His vibrant energy and passion, coupled with his commitment to diversity closely align with Howard Hughes’ core values.”

Admission to Nature Fest is free, but a few activities will require a small fee. All proceeds will benefit Cy-Hope, which seeks to make life better for kids through backpack food programs, counseling and recovery programs, camp lemonade, supplemental music education, and coaching.

Spend Saturday, October 29 with us, learning more about the animal kingdom and wildlife conservation. Learn more about Jungle Jordan by following him on social media. For more information about Nature Fest visit www.bridgeland.com/naturefest.
