Bridgeland, Cy-Fair Wins District Titles; Six Football Teams Enter Playoffs

CFISD ended its football season Nov. 4, claiming two outright district championship and qualifying six teams to the UIL Class 6A postseason.  

Cy-Fair High School finished 7-0 in District 17-6A to claim an undefeated district title and the program’s fourth championship in five seasons. In District 16-6A, Bridgeland High School finished 7-0 to claim the league championship and the program’s second outright title.  

Bridgeland High School finished with an undefeated 7-0 record to win the District 16-6A championship. The Bears will face Klein Cain on Friday, Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. at Cy-Fair FCU Stadium.  
 

Cypress Falls High School finished one game behind Bridgeland with a 6-1 district record. Cypress Springs High School earned the third seed with a 5-2 league mark, while Cypress Ranch High School finished one game behind the Panthers at 4-3 to claim the fourth seed. 

Bridgeland and Cypress Ranch will be 16-6A’s Division I representatives, while Cypress Falls and Cypress Springs will participate in the Division II-6A bracket.  

Cypress Falls High School senior Kye Callicoatte and the Golden Eagles finished 6-1 to earn District 16-6A’s second seed. They will meet Tomball on Friday, Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. at Ken Pridgeon Stadium. 
 

In 17-6A, Spring Branch ISD’s Memorial and Stratford high schools finished in second and third place, respectively, behind Cy-Fair. Jersey Village High School finished 4-3 in league play to earn the fourth seed. 

Cy-Fair and Jersey Village will be 17-6A’s Division I playoff teams.

The following bi-district playoff matchups are set for this week:  

  • Cy-Fair will play Houston Bellaire on Thursday, Nov. 9 at 7 p.m. at Cy-Fair FCU Stadium (8877 Barker Cypress Road); 
  • Jersey Village will meet Houston Lamar on Friday, Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. at Houston ISD’s Delmar Stadium (1900 Mangum Road); 
  • Bridgeland will play Klein Cain on Friday, Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. at Cy-Fair FCU Stadium (8877 Barker Cypress Road);  
  • Cypress Falls will play Tomball on Friday, Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. at Ken Pridgeon Stadium;  
  • Cypress Ranch will meet Klein Collins on Friday, Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. at Klein Memorial Stadium (16607 Stuebner-Airline Road); and 
  • Cypress Springs will meet Tomball Memorial on Friday, Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. at Tomball ISD Stadium (20235 Cypress Rosehill Road). 

For games at Cy-Fair FCU and Pridgeon stadiums, season ticket holders from Cy-Fair, Bridgeland and Cypress Falls can renew their tickets through Monday, Nov. 6 and will receive an e-mail with instructions on how to renew. Any remaining tickets will be made available to the general public beginning at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 7. 

Cy-Fair High School finished with an undefeated 7-0 record to win the District 17-6A championship. The Bobcats will face Houston Westside on Thursday, Nov. 9 at 7 p.m. at Ken Pridgeon Stadium.  
 
The following online ticket links for visiting teams to Cy-Fair FCU and Pridgeon stadiums (Houston Bellaire, Klein Cain and Tomball) will be made available on Monday, Nov. 6 for each respective school. Links for Cy-Fair, Bridgeland and Cypress Falls will be made available beginning Tuesday, Nov. 7 for each school. 

For Cypress Springs’ road playoff game at Tomball ISD Stadium, tickets will be sold online through Tomball ISD beginning Tuesday, Nov. 7.  

Cypress Springs High School senior Harrison Mass and the Panthers finished 5-2 to earn District 16-6A’s third seed. They will play Tomball Memorial on Friday, Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. at Tomball ISD Stadium.  
 

For Cypress Ranch’s road playoff game at Klein Memorial Stadium, tickets will be sold online through Klein ISD beginning Monday, Nov. 6

For Jersey Village’s road playoff game at Delmar Stadium, tickets will be sold online through Houston ISD beginning Tuesday, Nov. 7.
