The pioneering concept behind Bricks & Minifigs rests on three pillars: Rebuild, Reuse, and Reimagine. Bricks & Minifigs began its journey as an unassuming dream of David Ortiz in 2003. As a stay-at-home father of twin boys, Ortiz believed there should be a safe, convenient place for families to buy, sell, and trade LEGO® items. This vision became a reality when he met John Masek in 2009. With Masek's extensive retail experience and Ortiz's knowledge, the duo founded Bricks & Minifigs in 2010. The company started franchising in 2011 and boasted more than 41 stores in the US and Canada by 2018.
