Blue Bell’s Lone Star Scoop Tour Bringing Free Ice Cream, Giveaways to Katy and Fulshear This May
For many Texans, Blue Bell ice cream is more than a dessert — it’s part of family traditions, summer afternoons, Little League celebrations, and neighborhood gatherings. Now, the Brenham-based company is taking that community connection directly to residents across the state through its 2026 Lone Star Scoop Tour, with two stops planned in the Katy and Fulshear area on Saturday, May 30, 2026.
The traveling event, featuring Blue Bell’s branded special events truck and trailer, is designed as a thank-you to the communities that have supported the company for more than 100 years. Residents can enjoy free hand-dipped ice cream, frozen snacks, and giveaways while spending time with neighbors and fellow Blue Bell fans.
As Texas continues growing rapidly, community-centered events like the Lone Star Scoop Tour offer families a chance to slow down, connect locally, and celebrate brands that have long been woven into the state’s identity.

A Texas Tradition Continues to Grow
The Lone Star Scoop Tour comes during a busy year for Blue Bell Creameries as the Texas-based company continues expanding both its product lineup and geographic reach.
Earlier this year, Blue Bell introduced several new and limited-edition flavors, including Brookie À La Mode Ice Cream, featuring brown sugar ice cream mixed with brownie chunks and chocolate chip cookie pieces. The company also released Honey Vanilla Ice Cream, a pint-sized flavor blending vanilla ice cream with honey sweetness.
At the same time, Blue Bell has entered the growing better-for-you dessert category with the launch of Blue Bell PRO, a high-protein dairy dessert line available in Chocolate, Coffee, Salted Caramel, Strawberry, and Vanilla varieties. The pints contain up to 35 grams of protein, no added sugar, and fewer calories.
The company’s expansion has also reached beyond its traditional Southern footprint. In March, Blue Bell officially expanded distribution into Cincinnati, Dayton, and surrounding Ohio communities through a new distribution center in Lebanon, Ohio. The expansion included retail rollouts, local hiring efforts, and product sampling events aimed at introducing the brand to new customers.
What Happens Next
Blue Bell says additional Texas cities and tour dates will continue being added throughout the year as the Lone Star Scoop Tour travels across the state.
For Katy and Fulshear residents hoping to attend, arriving early may be a good idea as Blue Bell events often attract large crowds, particularly during warmer months and school break periods.
