BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse Opens in Cypress: Discover Craft Beer, Diverse Menu, and the Famous Pizookie
BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse has now officially opened its doors at 25660 Northwest Fwy near Spring Cypress Road in Cypress, a location formerly occupied by Luby's. The previous establishment was demolished starting in December 2023 to make way for BJ's modern, 7,522 square foot space. Customers were invited for a soft opening last week, followed by today's grand opening.
BJ's, with its roots firmly planted in the brewhouse tradition, has evolved significantly from its humble origins in 1978. The brand initially made its name through its innovative California-inspired twist on deep dish pizza. However, its menu has diversified over the years, now featuring an array of food and drink options ranging from burgers to steak and salmon to salads, as well as lighter fare. For a sweet finish, the world-famous Pizookie, has become a cult classic featuring a personal-sized cookie baked in a deep-dish pan with a crisp bottom, chewy edges, and a soft center, topped with vanilla or chocolate ice cream.

Another major draw is BJ's award-winning craft beer selection. Their brewing journey started in 1996, and over the years, they have amassed over 220 beer awards. Operating 7 breweries nationwide, their brewmasters annually experiment with approximately 60 new beers. Besides their brewing operations in five states, they also partner with independent third-party craft brewers.
Since its inception in 1978, BJ's has grown to operate over 200 restaurants across 29 states in the United States, with the BJ's in Cypress marking the brand's seventh location in the Greater Houston Area.
