Baskin-Robbins Celebrates Grand Opening in Cypress with Sweet Treats and Community Support
Baskin-Robbins, the world's largest chain of specialty ice cream shops, has made its mark in the Cypress community with the opening of a new location at 20330 Tuckerton Road in Suite 900, celebrating its grand opening on Saturday, September 14. The opening event included $1.31 scoops, a live DJ spinning hits, exciting prizes, and a once-in-a-lifetime chance to win free ice cream for a year.
The brand, which has been 'selling fun, not ice cream' for over 75 years, saw a massive turnout at the event, with an enthusiastic line of patrons stretching around the building, all eager to sample one of their 36 flavors on offer. The store had initially opened its doors on August 23, 2024, and the grand opening was a fitting celebration of the brand's warm welcome into the community.
In line with Baskin-Robbins' philosophy of giving back to the community, the Baskin-Robbins Joy in Childhood Foundation made a generous donation of $1,000 to the Cypress Assistance Ministries Food Pantry. Cypress Assistance Ministries, a local nonprofit and faith-based organization, serves individuals and families in financial crisis, those on the verge of homelessness, the elderly, the unemployed and anyone that needs hope for a better future.

The history of Baskin-Robbins goes back to 1945 when co-founder Irv Robbins opened the first shop in Glendale, California. Joined by his brother-in-law Burt Baskin, the duo went on to open eight shops across Southern California and purchased their first dairy production facility. This marked the advent of Baskin-Robbins Ice Cream, which initially offered 31 flavors – one for each day of the month.
The business, which started from a passionate love for ice cream, has since turned into an impressive global empire. Today, Baskin-Robbins has served over 1,400 unique ice cream flavors to ice cream lovers across 52 countries and nearly 7,700 locations worldwide.
With its latest addition in Cypress, the brand continues to make its mark and bring joy to communities globally.
