Aristoi Classical Cypress' Ribbon Cutting for New Library
Aristoi Classical Academy Cypress proudly announces that its new library and ribbon cutting took place December 6th at the Perry Road campus. More than 400 students, families, faculty and staff attended the ceremony and Christmas program.
The new library was met with great anticipation as the tuition-free classical school just opened in 2020. Hundreds of books are now on the shelves awaiting Aristoi students. America’s ER+ and Urgent Care is sponsoring the library this year and next. The medical facility has donated more than $10,000 for the library through the 2023-2024 academic year.
Mark Pertuso, Aristoi Classical Academy’s Cypress Headmaster, enthusiastically explained, “Aristoi Cypress is most grateful America’s ER has helped make this happen for our students and our school. Great Books are at the heart of an authentic education. As a classical school with more than 280 students, we read a lot. The library will be a treasured space, and the books will be well-loved and read. Italian Humanist Pier Paolo Vergerio said, ‘The fruits of literature...are always great, for the whole of life and for every kind of person.....’ The generosity of America’s ER+ helps to produce this fruit in the hearts and minds of our students. This is the first of many ribbon cuttings for Aristoi Cypress. We are making history with every step we take, each year. America’s ER+ has graciously welcomed us into the community, and this amazing support shows they believe in Aristoi Classical’s mission of providing classical education rooted in virtue to any student and family who desire it.”
Holiday musical classics including Jingle Bells, Jolly Old St. Nicholas, Deck the Halls, and Twelve Days of Christmas were a few of the carols Aristoi students sang for the audience after the ribbon cutting. St. Nick was also an honored guest as young and old alike gathered for pictures with the jolly fellow. Students, Aristoi’s Cypress PTO, and America’s ER+ also partnered together and collected more than 584 toys for the Toys for Tots Drive.
The ribbon cutting comes on the heels of Aristoi Cypress’ successful December 3rd Open House. Another exciting first for Aristoi Cypress will be the addition of an 8th grade class in the 2023-2024 academic year. That addition completes the K-8 offering for the Cypress campus. Plans are to continue to build out the school and offer a complete high school in the years to come. During the Open House, more than 270 people explored the classical school, learning about classical liberal arts education and Aristoi’s mission to develop the whole child. Aristoi Classical Academy aims to graduate young men and women who seek the truth in all things; who understand that learning is a life-long pursuit; and who listen carefully, reason critically, communicate clearly, and write persuasively.
