AMENDMENT/DE-ANNEXATION
THANK YOU to all those homeowners who signed the legal homeowners list required by the courts to proceed with the de-annexation of the Copperfield Place Property Owners Association from the Copperfield Commercial Lots. We have historically accomplished this and are now our own Village separated from the Copperfield Commercial side. We were able to collect the 51% signatures needed in order to pass the Amendment.

IMPORTANT DATES TO REMEMBER
POOL AND PARKS
As a friendly reminder, our pool is closed but hopefully we will be able to open it for use in May. If all is under control with the Covid situation, we will open on weekends only in May. There will be more information on pool hours and signs posted and mailed with your pool registration letter. Look out for pool card registration application. Without your card registration your card will not operate or let you in the pool.
Hopefully, we are hoping to be able to have a pool opening event again like we have in the past. We will need pool volunteers to close the pool during the pool season. So please keep this in mind. Without volunteers we may not be able to manage the pool. Presently the 3 Board Members take care of the pool with the assistance of another 2 volunteers. Contact Wendy Golden, CPV Manager at Chaparral @ 281-463-1777 if you want to be a volunteer.
POOL TRESPASSING: Jumping over the fence when the pool is closed is trespassing and illegal. Our cameras will pick up any illegal activity in and around the pool and park area 24/7. IF YOU SEE SOMETHING SUSPICIOUS CALL AND REPORT IT! Program your phone for the non-emergency phone number to the Sheriff’s department (713-221-6000 #6) or crimes in progress dial 911.
PARK AND PLAYGROUND: Report any loitering or suspicious activity you see. No one should be in the park after hours or in the early hours of the morning.
ILLEGAL PARKING: No parking in the Pool/Park area is allowed after 9:00 pm. We will begin towing any vehicle seen after hours at the owners’ expense. It does not matter if you are a homeowner or a guest visiting the homeowner . It is illegal and considered trespassing. If you notice a suspicious car or cars parked after hours , contact the non emergency sheriff department so a deputy can be dispatched.
If you suspect illegal activity, trespassing, suspicious activity or illegal parking after hours call the police right away @ 713-221-6000 prompt 6. You do not have to give out your name only the pool/parks address which is 7410 Field Ridge.
DOG LEASH LAW
We are still receiving many complaints that dogs are running loose in the neighborhood. If this is the case, call animal control! If you are walking your dogs, keep them on a leash at ALL times. This is a deed restriction and also against Harris County Leash Law. Be considerate of others. Many children are afraid of animals, and also people in the neighborhood do not appreciate dogs running around loose in their yards using it for doggie stations. Use the green belt area.

CRIME WATCH
Report any suspicious behavior. Report it to the Harris County Sheriff’s dispatcher. You do not have to leave a name or number. Call 713-221-6000 #6.
CONGRATULATIONS! Copperfield Place Village continues to have a 0 crime or violation of any sort for the end of the quarter. This is reported monthly by our own Copperfield security police department. The first and 2nd quarter we had couple of incidents all due to unlocked doors. The 3rd and 4th quarter we had no reports. This is due to vigilance and keeping our ears and eyes open.
AVOID thieves or break ins by making sure you lock your cars, doors and back yard gate entries at all times. Do not give them a reason to break in to steal! Most incidents are brought on upon ourselves!
A big shout out and thank you also to our Copperfield Police Department and its deputies who have our backs and are there ready to protect us.
Shine a blue light in your yard or tie a blue ribbon around your tree to show support and honor to our men in blue!

COMMUNITY CENTER
The community center remains closed until further notice due to the continued rennovations and repairs since the February 2021 ice storm damage. You may still call for any questions regarding services and leave a message at 281-856-9060.
TRASH SERVICES
Trash services are curb services and you furnish the trash bins every Tuesday and Friday. Our Village does not have recycling. Several times when our Waste Management contract was due, the community as in the past voted it down. You are billed separately for your service on a quarterly basis. It is not included in your yearly assessment fees. Please make sure you have paid your trash service or your trash will not be picked up. Visit WCA/GFL work specifications in the new online monthly newsletter under MyNeighborhoodNews.com. Questions may be directed also by calling 281-368-8397 or website www.gflenv.com.
DEED RESTRICTIONS VIOLATIONS
Chaparral follows a strict process of notification letters over a period of time and after all attempts fail to have the homeowner correct the violation(s) legal action may follow.
REMEMBER it is AGAINST our deed restrictions to have COMMERCIAL VEHICLES OR VANS, TRAILERS, BOATS, or JET SKIS in the street, driveway or parked in the Cul de Sacs. You will be charged a fee if you have been cited before for the same offense or for repeated violations. This offense creates emergency vehicles access ability at times and therefore considered a serious violation.
TRASH CANS in full view are the most cited deed restriction. Store trash cans the evening of pick up or morning day after.
DO NOT PAINT HOME, WINDOW OR DOOR TRIMS AND GARAGE DOORS WITHOUT PRIOR APPROVAL. If it does not meet our ACC Specifications you will have to repaint. Avoid unnecessary time and money by getting prior approval of ANY changes to the outside property or home.
DO NOT DISREGARD DEED RESTRICTION LETTERS! Important that you read and act accordingly. If you think you received this in error, please contact Chaparral immediately. Repeated cites or non-compliance letters will automatically incur a fee against your account.
GO TO THE PORTAL TO OBTAIN A COPY OF DEED RESTRICTIONS! portal.scsmgmt.com
EMERGENCY VEHICLES AND FIRE DEPARTMENT
Our emergency vehicles have again requested that we keep our house numbers marked where it is visible! You may stencil paint the house number on the street curb in front of your home large enough where it can be easily read or make the existing original number on the wall of your home visible. Keep your trees or bushes cleared from the existing number. It is imperative and could save a life if they don’t have to spend time looking for an address. The fire department still requires you to have your trees trimmed so they can have easy access in case of a fire.
ILLEGAL VEHICLE STREET PARKING
Vehicles must be parked legally on the roadway and facing the correct direction for the side of the road which it is parked on. Additionally the below applies: 1) Must park within 18 inches of the curb with BOTH right side wheels, which means you CANNOT park FACE IN in a cul de sac. This is parking at an angle where prohibited. 2) Must park no closer than 15 feet from a fire hydrant on either side of said hydrant. 3) Must park no closer than 30 feet on the approach side of a stop sign at an intersection. 4) Must not block any driveways with any part of the vehicle.
If your vehicle does not fit in your driveway or blocks the sidewalk then park on the street. Be courteous of others so that people and their children can walk on the sidewalk and people in wheelchairs can still get around without going into the street.
