Nearly 80 Years of Impact in Fort Bend County

Established in 1945 by Albert and Mamie George, The George Foundation has a long-standing legacy of philanthropy deeply rooted in Fort Bend County. Born from the couple’s desire to give back to their community and built from the wealth generated through agriculture, cattle ranching, and oil on their 20,000-acre estate—The George Ranch—the foundation has become one of the most influential charitable organizations in Texas.

To date, The George Foundation has distributed nearly $270 million in grants and scholarships, benefiting local nonprofits, students, and initiatives that drive community development across one of the state’s fastest-growing and most diverse counties.

Through its scholarship program, the foundation continues its core mission to improve lives by increasing access to education, reducing poverty, and expanding opportunity.
