Another Broken Egg Cafe Bringing Southern-Inspired Brunch Spot to Northwest San Antonio

San Antonio / New Braunfels  /  Austin
May 04 2026

Weekend brunch plans may soon get a little easier - and tastier - for families and foodies in northwest San Antonio.

Another Broken Egg Cafe, the fast-growing Southern-inspired breakfast and brunch chain known for its oversized benedicts, shrimp and grits, and brunch cocktails, is planning a new location at Bandera Pointe near Loop 1604.

The new cafe is slated for 11625 Bandera Rd., Suite 105, San Antonio, TX 78250, according to state construction records. The project includes renovating a 3,300-square-foot space for the restaurant and carries an estimated construction cost of $550,000. Construction is expected to begin June 1, 2026, with completion projected for February 2027.

For residents along the Bandera Road corridor, the announcement is another sign of how quickly the area continues to evolve. As northwest San Antonio neighborhoods keep growing, so does demand for places where families can meet for breakfast after Saturday soccer games, friends can gather over coffee and mimosas, or neighbors can enjoy a slower weekend brunch closer to home.

A Brunch Brand Built Around Southern Comfort Food

Another Broken Egg Cafe first opened in Louisiana in 1996 inside a renovated summer home near Lake Pontchartrain. Since then, the brand has expanded to more than 100 locations across 17 states, building a loyal following around chef-inspired breakfast and brunch dishes that go beyond the traditional diner menu.

The restaurant is especially known for menu items like Cinnamon Roll French Toast topped with cream cheese icing and rum butter sauce, Crab Cake Benedict, Cajun Shrimp & Crawfish Omelettes, and its signature Chicken & Waffles drizzled with house-made chipotle honey.

Its menu blends classic comfort food with brunch-style twists, offering everything from pancakes and omelettes to brunch jambalaya, lobster omelettes, burgers, salads, and seasonal specialties.

For northwest San Antonio residents, the new location could fill a growing appetite for more daytime dining options in the area — especially as national brunch chains continue expanding beyond urban centers into suburban communities.

More Than Breakfast

Part of Another Broken Egg Cafe’s popularity comes from the atmosphere the brand tries to create — less rushed breakfast stop, more relaxed social brunch experience.

The cafe’s beverage menu has become a major draw at many locations, featuring handcrafted Bloody Marys, mimosa flights, spiked cold brews, brunch margaritas, and alcohol-free mocktails alongside traditional coffee service.

That mix of brunch food and social dining has become increasingly popular across San Antonio in recent years, particularly in fast-growing suburban areas where residents are looking for gathering places closer to their neighborhoods.

The Bandera Pointe location is also expected to include the company’s family-friendly menu options, including pancakes, waffles, grilled cheese, and breakfast plates designed for children.

Continued Growth Along the Bandera Road Corridor

The addition of Another Broken Egg Cafe reflects the steady commercial growth happening across northwest Bexar County, where new housing developments and population growth continue reshaping the area around Loop 1604 and Bandera Road.

Restaurants have followed that growth closely, with developers increasingly targeting suburban retail centers for new dining concepts that can serve nearby neighborhoods during breakfast, lunch, and weekend traffic peaks.

Bandera Pointe has already become a familiar stop for many residents in the area, and the addition of another sit-down brunch destination could further increase activity at the shopping center.

For longtime residents, projects like this also highlight how the northwest side continues shifting from a primarily commuter-focused corridor into a more established community hub with its own dining and entertainment identity.

What Happens Next

Construction on the renovation is expected to start this summer, though an official grand opening date has not yet been announced.

If the timeline stays on track, northwest San Antonio residents could see the new brunch spot open sometime in 2027.

As the area continues to grow, new restaurants like Another Broken Egg Cafe are becoming part of a broader shift happening across the community — one where residents increasingly have more dining, gathering, and lifestyle options without needing to leave their side of town.

My Neighborhood News will continue following new restaurant openings and development activity across San Antonio.
