Anniston HOA Shares Friendly Reminder on Parking Guidelines to Keep Streets Safe and Welcoming

July 31 2025

In Anniston, community living often means balancing convenience with shared values for safety, accessibility, and neighborhood appeal. The Anniston Homeowners Association (HOA) recently reinforced a friendly reminder for residents regarding parking practices that help keep the neighborhood safe and welcoming.

The Guideline: Homeowners are encouraged to use their garages for parking whenever possible. If your garage is already full with two vehicles, additional cars may be parked in the driveway as long as they are driven regularly and not stored there long-term. Please keep sidewalks clear so neighbors can easily walk through, and remember that overnight street parking is not permitted to help keep our community safe and accessible.

Safety Comes First

Keeping cars in garages and off the streets reduces traffic congestion and eliminates visual obstructions, making it easier for drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians to safely navigate the neighborhood. It also enhances visibility for children playing outside and for those out for an evening walk.

Accessibility for All Residents

By ensuring driveways are used appropriately and sidewalks remain unobstructed, the community supports better access for parents with strollers, wheelchair users, and others who rely on unobstructed walkways. The rule also improves emergency access, ensuring fire trucks, ambulances, and police vehicles can quickly reach homes if needed.

Preserving Neighborhood Aesthetics

A well-maintained streetscape is one of the things residents love most about Anniston. Keeping streets clear of overnight parking and limiting vehicle storage in driveways helps maintain a neat, organized appearance, which positively impacts property values and reflects pride of ownership.

These guidelines are part of Anniston’s commitment to creating a safe, accessible, and attractive place to live. Residents are encouraged to work together in following the rules, supporting a community where everyone benefits from cleaner streets, safer passageways, and a strong sense of neighborhood pride.
