Tomball Gears Up for Fall 2024 Clean-Up: Join the Community in Tackling Litter and Promoting Sustainability

September 23 2024

On November 2, 2024, the City of Tomball will come alive with community spirit as residents from all walks of life gather to participate in the Tidy Up Tomball Fall 2024 Clean-Up. The event, which invites everyone ranging from students to businesses, to families and individual volunteers, aims to foster unity and shared responsibility towards the city's cleanliness.

Tidy Up Tomball, a non-profit organization founded in 2023 by local leaders, sprung from the need to address the growing waste issue in Tomball. This year, the organization, in partnership with Salem Lutheran Church, continues its mission of eliminating waste and litter throughout Tomball. Volunteers may sign-up to participate via this link.

With prior cleanups achieving remarkable success, including the collection of over 2,300 lbs of trash, Tidy Up Tomball continues to cultivate an eco-conscious culture empowering local residents to take charge of their surroundings. The organization holds bi-annual cleanups, fostering connections among change-driven individuals while physically rejuvenating the environment.

This year's clean-up event will begin at 8:00 AM with a kick-off at First Baptist Church Tomball's parking lot. Volunteers will be assigned specific parts of the city for the cleanup. Essential materials such as trash bags, gloves, safety vests, picker uppers, and first aid kits will be provided. Breakfast, bottled water, and coffee will also be available at check-in, and a free lunch offered after the cleanup task. Participants are advised to come prepared with appropriate attire, such as full-length pants, tennis shoes, hats, and sunscreen.
