Young Men's Service League CyFair Chapter Designated Chapter of Excellence
Recently, the CyFair chapter of the Young Men's Service League (YMSL) was designated as a Chapter of Excellence for their service in 2022-2023.
The CyFair chapter of YMSL is one of nine out of 119 chapters across the United States to receive this designation, which honors chapters that have shown exemplary management for the preceding year. The CyFair chapter is comprised of 90 mothers and 112 sons, who work together through service for the community with 20 philanthropy partners including Cypress Assistance Ministries, Cy-Fair Helping Hands, Boys and Girls Country, MESA Outreach, and Wreaths Across America Houston. YMSL aims to assist, serve and support those in need in our community, develop leadership skills among members, and promote mother-son relationships.
Most recently, a group of young men from the YMSL CyFair chapter spent the evening volunteering with their moms at Reach Unlimited’s “Reach Idol”. This annual event is a fun opportunity to showcase the talents of Reach members as they sing, dance, and perform for family and friends.
Each year, YMSL CyFair completes 20 hours of community service, giving mothers and their sons an opportunity to make a difference in their community together. The chapter meets five times throughout the year to learn about personal strengths and unique abilities, as well as goal setting for members to reach their full potential. In addition to community service, members have the opportunity to complete a chapter job each year, which helps members to develop leadership and interpersonal skills by taking on a chapter-focused job annually.
