Yorktown Colony Elects New Board Members and Announces Community Improvements
Residents of Yorktown Colony gathered for their annual meeting, where important community updates were shared, and a new Board of Directors was elected. The newly appointed board members are Alex Silerio, Miguel Alvarez, Martha Muzquiz, Donna Jones, and Libby Nelson. These dedicated individuals will work together to enhance the neighborhood and address community concerns.
One of the key issues the Board has been focusing on is the impact of foot traffic from students walking to and from Truitt Middle School. Many residents have noticed the wear and tear on lawns and landscaping caused by students taking shortcuts through yards. To help resolve this, the Board has planned the installation of a new walkway at the corner of Addicks Satsuma and Yorkpoint. This addition aims to provide students with a safe and designated path while preserving homeowners’ landscaping.

In addition to the new walkway, the Board has been working closely with law enforcement to address traffic congestion at the Addicks Satsuma and Yorkpoint intersection. Parents dropping off and picking up their children often create traffic backups, making it difficult for other drivers to navigate the area. Through ongoing collaboration with law enforcement, the Board hopes to find solutions that will improve traffic flow and ensure safety for both drivers and pedestrians.
Looking ahead, the Board is also working on making the community’s landscaping and home appearance guidelines more user-friendly. By updating these guidelines, they aim to make it easier for homeowners to maintain their properties while keeping Yorktown Colony an attractive and welcoming place to live.
With these exciting improvements on the horizon, the Yorktown Colony Board of Directors is committed to fostering a stronger, safer, and more beautiful community for all residents. Stay tuned for further updates as these projects progress!
