Wingstop Set to Join Champions Village Shopping Center in Northwest Houston
A fresh batch of wings will soon be hitting FM 1960. Wingstop is preparing to open a new location in the Champions Village Shopping Center in Northwest Houston, with renovations on the 1,537-square-foot space set to begin on May 28, 2026, according to official permit filings. The project is expected to wrap up by early September, just in time for football season—a high-traffic time for the wing-focused brand.
Located at 5503 FM 1960 W, Suite 104, the upcoming Wingstop will involve a complete interior buildout, including new partitions, flooring, lighting, mechanical systems, and kitchen equipment. With a construction budget of $300,000, the site is getting a full transformation to suit the brand’s standard design and function for quick service and carryout.

For many in the area, this new addition is likely a familiar one. Wingstop has become a staple across the Houston region, with dozens of locations from Katy and Sugar Land to the city’s east side. Nationwide, the chain has grown to more than 2,000 restaurants since it was founded in Garland, Texas, in 1994. Its aviation-themed branding and signature flavors have helped fuel its steady expansion—particularly in metro areas like Houston.
Wingstop’s menu includes both classic and boneless wings tossed in flavors like Lemon Pepper, Louisiana Rub, and Mango Habanero, alongside sides like seasoned fries and fried corn. The simplicity of the menu, combined with fast service and delivery options, has made it a popular choice for everything from casual lunches to game-day gatherings.

With construction just a few months away, the new Wingstop adds to a wave of food and retail updates in Harris County. Once complete, the location will offer another convenient spot for residents craving quick, flavorful meals—or simply a place to grab a familiar favorite close to home.
