Wild West Brewfest 2025 Breaks Records with Over $100,000 Raised for Katy Nonprofits

April 28 2025

The 2025 Wild West Brewfest (WWBF) made a big splash at Typhoon Texas in Katy, bringing record crowds, high spirits, and a lasting impact on the community, shattering records and leaving a lasting impact on the community. Organized by the Rotary Club of Katy, this year's event drew an unprecedented number of guests, 200 volunteers, and the largest collection of craft brewers in the festival's 14-year history.

Beyond the lively atmosphere of live music, food trucks, craft beer, and local wines, the heart of WWBF remained focused on giving back. Thanks to overwhelming support, the festival raised over $100,000 in net proceeds—pushing the grand total to more than $1.5 million donated to local nonprofits and scholarships since the event's inception.

"This year's Wild West Brewfest was our biggest and boldest yet," said David Loesch, chairman of the Wild West Brewfest. "The energy from our volunteers, brewers, sponsors, and guests was simply electric."

The Rotary Club of Katy, a long-standing pillar in the community, uses funds from WWBF and other events like the Katy Rice Harvest Festival to support a wide range of initiatives. In February 2025 alone, the club awarded $40,964 to eleven local organizations using funds raised in last year's events.

Recipients includedthe Jafuta Foundation Education Scholarship Program, Brookwood Community, Feed the Hunger Katy TX, Katy Christian Ministries, American Cancer Society Relay for Life, Hope Impacts, Graeme McDaniel Foundation, Society Prosper Children's Charity, Armor of Hope Foundation, and The Neighborhood Garden Project. These donations reflect the club’s mission to "Serve to Change Lives" and demonstrate how events like Wild West Brewfest directly fuel critical support for both local and global causes.

Wild West Brewfest is not just about enjoying some of the best craft beer in Texas; it is a celebration of community spirit, charity, and positive impact. Out-of-town visitors flocked to Katy, boosting local businesses and reinforcing the festival’s growing reputation as one of the top craft beer events in the state. The success of WWBF 2025 underscores the festival's importance not only as a premier entertainment experience but also as a crucial fundraiser supporting the Katy area's future leaders and essential services.

"We’re already planning for WWBF 2026, and our goal is to top everything we accomplished this year," added Loesch. "We want more brewers, more guests, more music—and ultimately, more support for the causes that matter most."

As the Rotary Club of Katy gears up for next year, they are calling on sponsors, volunteers, and craft beer lovers to join the movement.
