Water Wings Swim School Cypress Opens Sept. 5 With Family Grand Opening Celebration
For Cypress families who spend plenty of time around neighborhood pools, backyard swimming areas and other water activities, a new local option for building swimming skills and water confidence is officially opening its doors.
Water Wings Swim School Cypress will celebrate its grand opening Saturday, Sept. 5, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 22314 FM 529, Suite 200, Cypress, TX 77433, inviting families to tour the new swim facility, meet instructors and learn about programs designed for swimmers ranging from infants and beginners to more experienced children and adults.
The locally owned Cypress swim school is opening near Elyson and the growing FM 529 corridor, giving families in Cypress and northwest Harris County another year-round option for swim lessons close to home.
The grand opening will include swim activities, giveaways and opportunities for parents and children to experience the facility firsthand before deciding whether lessons are a good fit for their family.
Cypress Grand Opening Gives Families a First Look
Rather than simply opening for regular classes, owners Arun and Kate Singh are using Saturday's celebration as an opportunity for families to become familiar with Water Wings Swim School and the people who will be teaching local swimmers.
The event runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, at the new FM 529 location.
Families will be able to tour the school, meet the Water Wings team and learn more about personalized swim instruction and programs available for different ages and skill levels. Grand opening activities and giveaways are also planned.
For parents whose children are nervous around water or who are enrolling a child in swim lessons for the first time, being able to see the environment and talk with instructors before signing up may be especially helpful.
Water Wings describes its approach as combining swimming instruction with water-safety education and confidence-building. The company's current programming includes infant and toddler swimming, a progressive learn-to-swim curriculum, stroke clinics, competitive swim preparation, adult swim lessons and private instruction.
Local Parents and Business Owners Behind Water Wings Cypress
Although Water Wings is a growing swim-school brand, the Cypress location has local owners behind it.
Arun and Kate Singh are Katy-area residents and parents of two who bring experience from both corporate careers and businesses centered largely around children, families, entertainment, health and wellness.
Arun's professional background includes engineering and technology as well as leadership roles with JPMorgan and Accenture. Kate has worked in early childhood education and previously developed and operated preschool businesses.
Together, the couple has also owned family entertainment and health and wellness businesses in the Houston area. Their experience working with children and parents helped lead them toward the Water Wings concept and ultimately to Cypress.
“As parents and as entrepreneurs, Kay and I have spent the better part of two decades building businesses that make a real difference in children's lives,” Arun Singh said in the school's earlier opening announcement. “Water Wings represents the perfect fusion of everything we believe in — high-quality instruction, genuine care for every family we serve, and the belief that learning to swim is one of the greatest gifts we can give a child. We're excited to bring that experience to Cypress and help families build confidence in and around the water for years to come.”
The Cypress school is also expected to become part of a broader Greater Houston expansion by the Singhs.

Water Wings Swim School focuses on year-round swimming instruction rather than limiting lessons to the traditional summer swim season.
