VEVOR Opens First Global Flagship Store in Houston at Former Big Lots Site on FM 1960

March 04 2026

A long-vacant retail space along FM 1960 is about to see new activity — and for many Houston-area homeowners and small business owners, that could mean easier access to budget-friendly tools and equipment close to home.

VEVOR Home Improvement Houston, located at 10951 FM 1960 Rd W, Houston, TX 77070, will officially celebrate its grand opening on March 9, 2026. The store occupies the former Big Lots site, transforming a familiar retail address into what the company is calling its first global flagship store.

For residents in Northwest Houston and surrounding communities near Willowbrook, Champions and Jersey Village, the opening represents more than just another retail ribbon-cutting. It introduces a brand known primarily for online sales into a physical storefront where customers can browse equipment in person — from workshop tools to restaurant-grade kitchen machines.

What the VEVOR Houston Flagship Means for Local DIYers and Small Businesses

VEVOR has built its reputation as a home improvement and industrial equipment brand serving DIYers, contractors and small businesses looking for affordable alternatives to premium tool brands. Now, instead of ordering online and waiting for delivery, Houston-area shoppers will be able to see products up close before purchasing.

The company describes itself as a brand that empowers “Home Creators to upgrade spaces with pro-level gear at fair prices.” Its focus is on entry-level home improvement products designed to balance affordability and reliability, supported by in-house research and development teams and partnerships with manufacturers.

For homeowners tackling backyard renovations, garage workshop upgrades or landscaping projects, the store’s inventory spans multiple categories:

  • Tools & Workshop Equipment: Shoppers will find power tools such as drill presses, lathes and grinders, along with welding equipment, shop presses, anvils and woodworking and metalworking tools.

  • Automotive Tools: The store carries car jacks, lift equipment, tire changers, wheel balancers, diagnostic tools and diesel heaters — equipment often used by home mechanics and small auto shops.

  • Construction & Industrial Equipment: Products include concrete core drills, post hole diggers, augers, hydraulic pumps, winches and material handling equipment.

  • Home & Garden: Customers can browse pressure washers, gardening tools, landscaping equipment and outdoor fencing and privacy screens.

  • Restaurant & Commercial Kitchen Equipment: For food entrepreneurs and small restaurants, VEVOR offers ice makers, mixers, food processors and commercial cooking tools.

  • Specialty Equipment: Items such as heat presses for T-shirt printing, ultrasonic cleaners and crafting machines round out the catalog.

Overall, VEVOR reports carrying more than 40,000 products and serving over 20 million customers in more than 50 countries. The company ships from 200 strategically located warehouses worldwide and is supported by a global team of approximately 2,000 employees.

From Online Marketplace to Houston Storefront

VEVOR’s story began in 2007 in Shanghai, China, where it launched as an online seller of tools and hardware. Rather than opening brick-and-mortar stores, the company initially focused on selling industrial-style tools directly through e-commerce platforms.

The brand gained traction through eBay before expanding to Amazon around 2013 and later to marketplaces such as Walmart and Home Depot online. In 2020, it launched its own direct website, Vevor.com, accelerating its direct-to-consumer model.

Instead of designing and manufacturing every product itself, VEVOR often sources tools from manufacturers, rebrands them under its own name and sells them directly — cutting out traditional distributors. The strategy has allowed the company to keep prices lower than many established brands.

After years as an online-only retailer, 2026 marks a shift into physical retail. The Houston location is the company’s first U.S. store, part of an effort to compete more directly with established home improvement retailers while allowing customers to test products in person.

VEVOR's model of capped profit margins and cost control has helped it build a global customer base drawn to lower price points. The brand offers:

  • Average delivery times of 2–5 days for orders
  • A 30-day return policy
  • A one-year warranty
  • 24/7 customer support through its Support Center and live chat

Grand Opening Details: March 9 In-Store Event

The VEVOR Houston grand opening is scheduled for March 9, 2026, and the company is planning a series of in-store-only promotions and appearances for that day.

According to grand opening materials, shoppers can expect storewide tiered discounts available March 9 only:

  • $100 off member orders over $499
  • $60 off member orders over $399

The discounts are valid in-store on March 9, 2026, only. No code is required, and the discount will automatically apply at checkout for qualifying member purchases.

VEVOR is also offering a free gift for members with any in-store purchase on March 9. Quantities are limited and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.

Adding a local sports connection to the celebration, VEVOR — an official partner of the Houston Rockets — has announced that a Houston Rockets player is scheduled to appear at the store on the afternoon of March 9. The specific player has not yet been announced.

Opening-day offers are valid in-store only, and some promotions require membership participation.

Beginning March 1, regular store hours are:

  • Monday–Friday: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM
  • Saturday: 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM
  • Sunday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM

For residents along the FM 1960 corridor, the reopening of a previously vacant storefront also signals renewed commercial activity in the area — something neighbors and nearby businesses often welcome.
