Description
Big Cypress Rocket Day brings hands-on STEM fun to FedEx Ground Houston Hub in Cypress, where young participants can spend the day launching rockets and learning by doing.
The event is aimed at Cub Scout-age youth, and the official description notes that children in kindergarten through fifth grade who are interested in joining Scouting may also attend. New Scouts receive a rocket to build and launch, while returning Scouts can bring their own rocket and engine.
- Date: Saturday, November 7, 2026
- Time: 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
- Location: FedEx Ground Houston Hub, 8787 W Grand Parkway N, Cypress, TX 77433
- Admission: Free
- Registration: RSVP is requested so organizers can plan for rocket engines
- What to bring: Annual Health and Medical Record, closed-toed shoes, and optional snacks, water bottle, camp chair, sunscreen, bug spray, and extra engine
- Family note: Adults handle rocket motors and supervise launch activities
- Weather plan: The launch will be rescheduled in case of inclement weather
Closed-toed shoes, sun protection, and a chair for the adults nearby would make the day more comfortable, especially for families staying through multiple launches. For more community happenings, readers can check My Neighborhood News.
