Very Special Couple Recognized as Greatest Loyal Fans at Katy High School Girls Basketball Game

At a recent Katy Tiger Girls Basketball game, Coach Marhofer and the team recognized a very special couple to Katy ISD with the Greatest Loyal Fans award! 

Doug and Pat Harrell have lived in the Katy area since 1955 and will be celebrating 68 years of marriage in July. Pat was a lady tiger basketball player and they both graduated from Katy High School in 1957 and 1958, respectively. They have 2 daughters and 6 grandchildren who have all graduated from Katy ISD, and 3 great-grandchildren that will also graduate from Katy. Doug drove a bus taking Katy HS sports teams to various venues for 20 years and Pat went on to serve as the Katy HS principal’s secretary for 30 years. 

They attend every Katy HS football, volleyball, basketball, baseball, and softball game that they possibly can, both home and away. The plaque they received reads, "The Katy Tigers' All-Time Greatest Loyal Fans, From the 2022-23 Lady Tiger Basketball Team."
