Turquoise Wine Bar Cypress Sets October 24 Opening at Former Hidden Cellar After Months of Delays
After months of renovations and several postponed opening dates, Turquoise Wine Bar Cypress has announced plans to open to the public on Saturday, October 24, 2026, bringing a new wine and dining experience to the former Hidden Cellar Wine Bar location at 16518 House & Hahl Road in Cypress, Texas.
For residents near Bridgeland, Blackhorse Ranch and surrounding northwest Cypress neighborhoods, the opening marks the return of a familiar gathering place that spent more than a decade serving the community. While the name, ownership and atmosphere are changing, the location will continue its tradition as a neighborhood destination for wine, conversation and evenings with friends.
The new venture is especially personal for local owners Tara and Neil Cruz, longtime Cypress residents who spent approximately 10 years as regular customers of Hidden Cellar before deciding to take over the space themselves.
Turquoise Wine Bar Cypress Announces October 21-24 Soft Opening Schedule
Turquoise Wine Bar Cypress will begin welcoming invited guests on Wednesday, October 21, with a private friends and family event from noon to 8 p.m.
Members of the Cypress Wine Club will receive exclusive access on Thursday, October 22, from noon to 8 p.m., and Friday, October 23, from noon to 10 p.m. The business plans to contact members directly with instructions for reserving a seat for themselves and one guest.
The general public will be welcomed beginning Saturday, October 24, from noon to 10 p.m., with reservations required. The reservation link has not yet been released, but the business says it will be available soon.
Following the soft opening, regular operating hours will be Tuesday through Thursday from noon to 8 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from noon to 10 p.m. The wine bar will be closed Sundays and Mondays.
The announcement comes after a longer-than-anticipated renovation process. Construction began in May, with ownership initially targeting an August opening before unforeseen circumstances pushed the anticipated debut to September. A previously announced September 29 grand opening also passed without the business opening its doors.
With the October dates now announced, the owners expressed appreciation for the support they have received throughout the process.
"We've been waiting for this moment for a long time, and we can't wait to share it with the Cypress community. Thank you for being part of our journey," the business shared in its latest announcement.
A New Chapter for the Former Hidden Cellar Wine Bar in Cypress
The upcoming opening carries particular significance for longtime customers of Hidden Cellar Wine Bar, which operated at the House & Hahl Road location for approximately 12.5 years before closing in April 2026.
Established in 2013, Hidden Cellar became a familiar destination for Cypress wine lovers, known for its live music, wine tastings, charcuterie boards and relaxed atmosphere. Its Thursday through Saturday performances attracted regulars, while its intimate setting made it a popular choice for date nights, birthdays and small gatherings.
Over the years, the establishment developed the kind of loyal following where customers often recognized one another and returned as much for the company as for the wine.
When Hidden Cellar announced its closure, the owners thanked the community for more than a decade of support and encouraged customers to give the incoming business a chance.
"Thank you for an absolutely amazing 12.5 years in Cypress!!!" the former owners shared in their farewell message. "Your Love and Support for this little Neighborhood ‘Cheers’ Wine Bar and Live Music Venue has been tremendous!"
They also publicly endorsed Turquoise Wine Bar, writing, "There's a New Fabulous Wine Bar Coming Soon. Please Support Them As You Have done For Us! They Are Good People!"
As longtime Hidden Cellar regulars themselves, Tara and Neil Cruz understand the connection many customers have to the location. While Turquoise Wine Bar will introduce a new concept and refreshed space, the couple hopes to preserve the welcoming, neighborhood atmosphere that made its predecessor a favorite among Cypress residents.
Meet Tara and Neil Cruz, the Cypress Residents Behind the New Wine Bar
For Tara and Neil Cruz, opening Turquoise Wine Bar Cypress is an opportunity to build a business in the community where they have established their careers, raised their family and spent much of their lives.
Tara brings 28 years of experience as a preschool director, where she led early childhood education programs, worked closely with families and staff, and focused on creating welcoming, supportive environments.
Neil's professional background is in commercial lending, with experience in finance, relationship management and helping local businesses pursue their goals. His work with business owners has provided experience in the financial and operational considerations involved in building a business.
Together, the couple hopes to draw on those experiences to create a neighborhood wine bar that feels comfortable and approachable, whether customers are stopping in for an afternoon tasting, meeting friends after work or celebrating a special occasion.
Their connection to the location also influenced their decision to open there. Having frequented Hidden Cellar for approximately a decade, they were already familiar with the atmosphere and sense of community its customers appreciated.
In a message introducing themselves to Cypress residents, Tara and Neil shared their vision for the new business.
"Together we share a love for wine, community, and meaningful connection. Turquoise Wine Bar Cypress was created around that idea; a warm, inviting space where wine is the centerpiece, but relationships are the heart."
For the couple, the emphasis is on creating a locally owned and operated business where customers feel welcome and have opportunities to build friendships over a shared interest in wine.
What to Expect at Turquoise Wine Bar Cypress
Turquoise Wine Bar was founded by Jen Sinconis and Laura Hernandez, two former corporate executives who wanted to create a more approachable wine-tasting experience without the formality sometimes associated with traditional wine bars.
The concept features rotating monthly wine menus, curated tasting flights and boutique wines sourced from vineyards around the world, including selections from Napa Valley, Sonoma, Paso Robles, Santa Barbara and Walla Walla.
Guests can explore a variety of wine styles through tasting flights featuring sweet wines, sparkling selections, classic whites, lighter reds and fuller-bodied reds. The brand also emphasizes sustainably produced wines and opportunities for customers to discover smaller wineries.
Beyond wine, Turquoise Wine Bar's broader beverage offerings include sangrias, spritzes, beer and non-alcoholic options.
Food selections associated with the concept include charcuterie boards, bruschetta, flatbreads, pizzas, salads, paninis and desserts. Items such as baked brie, smoked salmon spread and truffle flatbreads have also been featured by the brand, although the Cypress location's final menu and availability of individual dishes have not yet been confirmed.
The concept is designed for guests with varying levels of wine knowledge, from experienced enthusiasts interested in discovering new labels to casual customers looking for an enjoyable evening out.
What the Opening Means for Cypress and Surrounding Neighborhoods
The arrival of Turquoise Wine Bar adds another locally operated dining and social option for residents of Cypress, Bridgeland, Blackhorse Ranch and nearby communities.
With continued residential development across northwest Harris County, neighborhood restaurants, coffee shops and wine bars offer residents places to gather without traveling into central Houston.
For former Hidden Cellar customers, the October opening also means returning to a location associated with years of memories, although with new owners and a different concept.
Tara and Neil's experience as customers of the previous establishment gives them a personal understanding of that history. At the same time, their new venture gives them an opportunity to create something of their own as Cypress continues to grow.
Reservations and What Happens Next
Turquoise Wine Bar Cypress is scheduled to welcome the general public on Saturday, October 24, 2026, from noon to 10 p.m. Reservations will be required for opening day.
The business plans to release its public reservation link soon. Cypress Wine Club members should watch for direct communication regarding the October 22 and 23 private opening events.
