Turquoise Wine Bar Cypress Sets September Grand Opening After Construction Delay
Cypress wine lovers now have a firm date to circle on the calendar.
Turquoise Wine Bar Cypress plans to hold a private soft opening from Sept. 21 through Sept. 26 before officially welcoming the public during its grand opening on Tuesday, Sept. 29. The locally operated neighborhood wine bar is preparing to open at 16518 House & Hahl Road, inside the former Hidden Cellar Wine Bar space.
The September opening comes several weeks later than the previously projected August debut. Ownership announced the revised timeline in a July 25 social media update, explaining that additional time was needed to complete the space and prepare the experience planned for guests.
“Thank you so much for your patience and support throughout this journey,” the company shared. “Due to unforeseen circumstances, our opening has been delayed from our originally projected August date to September.”
For residents near Bridgeland, Blackhorse Ranch and northwest Cypress, the announcement provides a clearer timeline for the return of a familiar neighborhood gathering place that has remained closely watched since Hidden Cellar closed earlier this year.
Turquoise Wine Bar Cypress Opening Dates
The private soft opening is scheduled for Sept. 21-26, giving invited guests an early opportunity to experience the renovated Cypress wine bar before its official launch.

Ownership said the delay was intended to ensure that the location is fully prepared before opening its doors.
“While we're just as excited as you are to open our doors, we want to ensure that every detail is in place so we can provide the exceptional experience our guests deserve,” the announcement stated. “We truly appreciate your understanding as we put the finishing touches on Turquoise Wine Bar Cypress.”
Residents interested in attending the private soft opening are being encouraged to join the Cypress Wine Club. According to the company, members can receive exclusive discounts, access to special events and an invitation to the soft-opening period.
A New Chapter for a Familiar Cypress Gathering Place
Turquoise Wine Bar began renovating the House & Hahl Road location this spring after taking over the former Hidden Cellar Wine Bar.
Hidden Cellar had served the Cypress community for approximately 12.5 years, developing a loyal following through live music, wine tastings, charcuterie boards, date nights and small celebrations. Many regulars described it as a neighborhood “Cheers”-style venue where staff knew returning guests and newcomers could quickly feel at home.
When Hidden Cellar announced its closure, its owners encouraged longtime customers to support the incoming business.
“Thank you for an absolutely amazing 12.5 years in Cypress!!!” Hidden Cellar shared in its farewell message. “Your Love and Support for this little Neighborhood ‘Cheers’ Wine Bar and Live Music Venue has been tremendous!”
The former owners also offered a public endorsement of Turquoise Wine Bar, writing, “There’s a New Fabulous Wine Bar Coming Soon. Please Support Them As You Have done For Us! They Are Good People!”
That transition carries added meaning for Turquoise Wine Bar’s Cypress operators, who were already familiar with the venue before taking it over.
“We are excited to be taking over The Hidden Cellar, as we have been regulars the last 10 years so it is special to us as well,” the company previously shared. “Can’t wait to welcome you this summer.”

Tara spent 28 years as a preschool director, leading early childhood programs centered on care, communication and creating nurturing environments for children, families and staff. Her professional experience has focused on building relationships, supporting teams and creating spaces where people feel comfortable, valued and included.
Neil brings a background in commercial lending, with experience in finance, relationship management and helping local businesses pursue their growth goals. His career has involved working closely with business owners and helping people move forward with confidence, experience he now brings to the operations and long-term planning behind the Cypress wine bar.
Together, the couple said their goal is to create a warm and inviting neighborhood destination where wine may be the centerpiece, but relationships remain at the heart of the experience.
