Towne Lake Celebrates Community and Connection at National Night Out 2025
There’s something special about a neighborhood that looks out for one another—and this weekend, Towne Lake residents are invited to celebrate just that.
The annual Towne Lake National Night Out community event is happening Sunday, October 5, from 2:00 to 4:30 p.m. at the Lakehouse circle driveway. Organized by Towne Lake’s Security Coordinator, Lydia Morgan, this event is part of the nationwide National Night Out campaign, which promotes strong community ties and positive relationships between residents and law enforcement.
Families and neighbors can look forward to a lively afternoon filled with bounce house fun for the kids, food trucks, local business booths, giveaways, and a few heartwarming community traditions unique to Towne Lake.
One highlight of the event is a special collection drive for gently used stuffed animals, which will be donated to local sheriff’s deputies to keep in their vehicles for children experiencing crisis. In a sweet thank-you gesture, children who bring a stuffed animal will receive a cup of Orange Leaf frozen yogurt.
“It’s a simple way for our younger residents to support others and make a real difference,” said Morgan. “And it’s also a meaningful way for our community to support the efforts of our first responders.”
Kids—and adults—are also encouraged to sign posters for each of the attending first responder agencies, with markers and materials provided. Those who wish can also bring a personal card or handwritten note to express their thanks.

Of course, Towne Lake’s beloved water safety mascot “Bobber” the dog will be on hand to greet families and spread smiles.
National Night Out is more than just a fun community gathering. It’s part of a nationwide initiative to strengthen relationships between law enforcement and neighborhoods, foster a sense of belonging, and promote safety through personal connection.
If you can’t make it to Sunday’s big event, residents are still encouraged to participate on Tuesday, October 7, which is the official National Night Out date in Texas. That evening, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., Towne Lake neighbors are invited to host or join mini “block parties” or informal front-yard gatherings.
Ideas include:
- Breaking out sidewalk chalk or sports balls to keep the kids entertained
- Grabbing some mosquito spray or fogger to keep it comfortable
- Bringing out your lawn chairs, going for a walk, or simply turning off the TV and chatting with a neighbor
Even a short hello or friendly wave can help build the kind of community where neighbors look out for one another—and that’s the heart of what National Night Out is all about.
“Even if your area isn’t planning anything formal, just turning on your porch light and stepping outside can go a long way,” Morgan added. “The more you know about your neighborhood, the easier it is to keep it safe.”
Please note: First responders will do their best to attend Sunday’s event, but as always, they may be called away at any time to respond to emergencies.
