Tompkins High School Seniors Sign After Playoff Football Run and Standout State-Level Performances
National Signing Day at Obra D. Tompkins High School arrives after a year that showcased both team competitiveness and elite individual performances across multiple sports.
From a sixth consecutive football playoff appearance to a UIL 6A State Cross Country finish and ongoing spring track success, the Falcons continue to compete at a high level within District 19-6A and Region III.
Football: Sixth Straight Playoff Appearance
The Tompkins Falcons closed the 2025 football season with a 5–5 overall record and a 4–4 mark in District 19-6A, one of Texas’ most competitive 6A districts.
Key district wins included a 52–12 victory over Katy Taylor and a 32–7 win against Seven Lakes. A critical late-season win over Katy Jordan secured the Falcons’ sixth consecutive playoff berth, continuing a streak that has become a defining feature of the program.
Junior running back Ethan Meadows emerged as a focal point of the offense, averaging 124.9 rushing yards per game and scoring 16 total touchdowns — production that helped keep Tompkins in postseason contention throughout the district slate.
Several senior Falcons now transition from UIL 6A football to collegiate competition:
- Zayden Bach (Swim) — California State University - Bakersfield
- Maddox Bou (Football) — Midwestern University
- Blake Hamilton (Football) — University of Texas El Paso
Cross Country & Track: State-Level Depth in Region III
Tompkins continues to maintain one of the stronger distance programs in Region III.
During Fall 2025, the boys’ cross country team captured the Katy District title with a score of 46 and later finished 15th at the UIL 6A State Championship with a team score of 342 — a result that placed them among the top programs in Texas.
As the Spring 2026 track season unfolds, several Falcons have already posted notable times:
- Mathias Pitzel (Sr.) — 1:51.82 in the 800m
- Karri Noel — 48.45 in the 400m at the District 19-6A meet
- Silas Scutt — 21.21 in the 200m at the Area meet
Senior Gracie Greska (Cross Country / Track) signed with Bryn Mawr College, continuing the Falcons’ tradition of sending distance athletes to collegiate programs.

In addition to athletic performance, several team members earned Academic All-State honors, reinforcing the program’s balance between competition and classroom achievement.
Senior Luke LaBrose (Swim) signed with Lynn University, while Zayden Bach (Swim) committed to California State University – Bakersfield.
A Milestone for the Falcons Community
National Signing Day at Tompkins reflects a year defined by playoff appearances, state-level competition and measurable individual progress.
“These student-athletes have put in the early mornings, the extra reps and the classroom work. Signing Day is more than a ceremony — it is the reward for years of discipline and the beginning of an exciting new chapter,” Katy ISD Executive Director of Athletics Lance Carter said.
For Tompkins families, the milestone represents more than a ceremony — it reflects sustained competitiveness within Katy ISD and a culture where athletic opportunity is built over seasons, not moments.
As spring schedules continue and district play intensifies across sports, this senior class leaves behind both results and expectations.
