Tomball Regional Health Foundation Donates $100,000 to Cy-Hope to Expand Mental Health Services in Cypress and Waller

June 17 2025

In a major boost for access to local mental health support services, the Tomball Regional Health Foundation (TRHF) has awarded a $100,000 grant to Cy-Hope, a nonprofit serving underserved communities in the Cypress and Waller areas. The funding will help expand Cy-Hope Counseling’s services and provide access to affordable mental healthcare for children, families, and individuals in need.

Addressing Mental Health Needs in Cypress and Waller

The generous contribution will be directed toward Cy-Hope Counseling Centers located in Cypress and Waller, Texas. These centers provide a wide range of services, including child and adolescent therapy, family counseling, play therapy, and specialized support for children on the autism spectrum. A key component of the program is its sliding scale pricing, ensuring that even financially disadvantaged clients in the Tomball region can receive care.

“We are incredibly grateful to Tomball Regional Health Foundation for their generous $100,000 donation to support our counseling centers in Waller and Cypress,” said a representative from Cy-Hope. “This funding will help us expand our reach, provide affordable mental health services, and continue offering hope and healing to individuals, children, and families in our communities.”

A Mission Rooted in Community Health

TRHF’s support is part of its broader mission to enhance wellness, increase access to healthcare, and provide health education across the Greater Tomball area, which includes Magnolia, Waller, Cypress, Klein, and Spring. Originally established as the Tomball Hospital Authority in 1976, the organization has evolved from operating the Tomball Regional Medical Center into a grantmaking foundation dedicated to improving community health.

“We're excited to partner with you and grateful for the work you are doing to support the mental health needs of our community,” said a spokesperson from the Tomball Regional Health Foundation.

According to board minutes from TRHF’s September 25, 2024 meeting, the funding committee unanimously recommended Cy-Hope Counseling for the 2025 grant cycle. The motion was seconded by board member TJ Tijerina and carried with full approval.

Making Life Better for Kids, One Family at a Time

Cy-Hope, founded with the mission of “Making Life Better for Kids,” operates numerous programs that support academic, emotional, and social development for youth across Cy-Fair and surrounding communities. In addition to counseling services, Cy-Hope runs after-school programs, food assistance initiatives, summer camps, youth mentoring, and STEM education through its mobile STEM Bus.

Through its focus on community, collaboration, compassion, connection, and celebration, Cy-Hope continues to rally support from churches, civic groups, schools, and businesses to uplift underserved children and families. The TRHF grant is expected to further that mission by enhancing mental health access at a time when demand for such services is at an all-time high.

“Because of your support, more people will have access to the care they need, right when they need it most,” Cy-Hope shared. “Thank you for believing in our mission and making a lasting impact!”

A Lasting Partnership for Mental Wellness

With this significant grant, the partnership between TRHF and Cy-Hope highlights the growing recognition of mental health as a critical pillar of public wellness. As both organizations continue their work, families in Cypress, Waller, and the surrounding areas will benefit from greater access to care, helping build stronger, more resilient communities.
