Today is Election Day in Harris County: Where to Vote, What’s on the Ballot, and Why It Matters
It’s officially Election Day in Texas, and registered voters across Harris County are heading to the polls to make decisions that directly shape their communities. With polling places open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., local officials are encouraging residents to cast their ballots before the deadline.
This election includes 17 proposed amendments to the Texas Constitution and several important local races that impact public services, education, and infrastructure in neighborhoods across Houston, Katy, Cypress, Tomball, Humble, Pasadena, and beyond.
“It may not be a presidential election, but the issues at hand meet you at your doorstep, shaping your schools, your streets, and your everyday life. This is your chance to make a difference where it matters most,” said Harris County Clerk Teneshia Hudspeth.

- Polls open: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. — Tuesday, November 4, 2025
- Vote anywhere in Harris County at any of the 600+ official vote centers

Mail Ballot Drop-Off Location (One Day Only)
- Address: 1019 Congress St., Downtown Houston, TX 77002 (MAP)
- Drop-off hours: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Required: A valid form of photo ID
If you received a mail ballot and prefer to vote in person, bring it to any vote center to surrender it and vote regularly. If you don’t have the ballot, you can still vote provisionally with a valid ID.
What’s on the Ballot – Key Issues in Local and State Elections
Although this is not a presidential election, it’s one of the most impactful elections for Texans at the community level. Here’s what voters may see on the ballot today, depending on where they live:
- 17 Texas constitutional amendments (statewide)
- 18th Congressional District (for those registered in this district)
- Houston City Council At-Large Position 4 (within Houston city limits)
- School board elections, municipal races, college trustees, and utility district board members

To vote in person, you must present one of the following forms of photo identification:

- U.S. Passport
Helpful Tip: Wireless devices are not allowed inside the voting area, but you can bring printed voting guides, handwritten notes, or a sample ballot with you for reference.
