The Kebab Shop Now Open in Vintage Park Near Cypress
The Kebab Shop, an innovative eatery established in San Diego, has begun its expansion into the Houston area, with its first local restaurant opening on Thursday, June 6th. Located in the Vintage area on 10420 Louetta Road near Cypress, this location marks the start of the restaurant's exciting new chapter in the region.
Family owned and operated, The Kebab Shop is the brainchild of Tony Farmand, AJ Akbar, and Wally Sadat. From its humble beginnings as a small, hole-in-the-wall restaurant in 2007, the brand now boasts over 45 outlets across the United States. Known for an inventive take on traditional European-style kebabs, The Kebab Shop offers a unique menu blending European-style kebabs with San Diego roots that offers patrons a taste of the Mediterranean in a casual atmosphere.
Their menu offers a diverse range of options, including wraps, bowls, and plates accompanied by rice and salad. Customers can choose from their range of mouth-watering kebabs. These include their signature dishes, the carved chicken or lamb beef döner. This Turkish-origin dish is cooked on a vertical rotisserie, with the seasoned meat stacked in the form of an inverted cone and slowly turned next to a vertical cooking element. Thin shavings of the meat are then carved off as it cooks. Additionally, the Kebab Shop also offers grilled saffron chicken, grilled steak, beef kofta, and falafel kebabs.
The Kebab Shop is not stopping at the Vintage location. The next Houston-area opening is planned for July, in West University next to Whole Foods. Learn more about The Kebab Shop at thekebabshop.com.
