The Colonies RPOA March News

RESIDENTS OF THE COLONIES, LEND US YOUR EYES
THE COLONIES RECREATION PROPERTY OWNERS’ ASSOCIATION (CRPOA) manages the pool, tennis courts and playground.
The CRPOA is faced with year on year increase in pool operating costs consistently exceeding budget. An annual increase in members’ fees have been intentionally marginal to keep fees low; however, it has not been enough to offset rising pool operating costs. The CRPOA Board realizes that without a substantial increase in fees the current pool operation is not viable; hence the CRPOA Board is looking for your ideas or alternatives for the continued use and enjoyment of the pool such that we may plan ahead.**Concord, Jamestown and Yorktown Colonies pay for the pool, tennis courts and playground as part of their annual dues. The residents of the other Colonies--Bradford Colony 1 & 2, Charleston Colony and Georgetown 1 and 2-pay a fee for
pool use each season.**
The CRPOA is considering various options for the future of the pool such as:
-
KEEP the pool operating as it is. Increase assessment fees to meet rising pool operating costs.
- CONVERT the pool area to a splashpad.
- CLOSE the pool. Back-fill and sell-off remaining assets.
The CRPOA Board is looking for your alternatives for the continued use and enjoyment of the pool - or not, such that we may plan ahead. To discuss these options, the CRPOA plans to hold a Town Hall meeting at the MUD #102 bldg. on March 22, 2022, at 6:30 PM.
