The Colonies RPOA February News

RESIDENTS OF THE COLONIES - LEND US YOUR EYES
THE COLONIES RECREATION PROPERTY OWNERS’ ASSOCIATION (CRPOA) manages the pool, tennis courts and playground.
The Board is faced with annual increases in the pool operating costs, which consistently exceed the budget. Recent yearly increases in members’ fees have been kept low; however, they have not been enough to offset rising pool operating expenses.
Concord, Jamestown and Yorktown Colonies pay for the pool, tennis courts and playground as part of their annual dues. The residents of the other Colonies-Bradford Colony 1 & 2, Charleston Colony and Georgetown 1 and 2 - pay a fee for pool use each season.
In order to plan ahead, we request your thoughts and ideas for the continued use and enjoyment of the pool. We are considering various options for the future use of the pool. They include:
-
KEEP the pool operating as it is. Increase assessment fees to meet rising pool operating costs.
- CONVERT the pool area to a splashpad.
- CLOSE the pool. Back-fill and sell-off remaining assets.
To discuss these options, the Board plans to hold a Town Hall meeting at the MUD #102 building, 6768 Kentwick Dr., Houston, TX 77084, (under the water tower), on March 22, 2022, at 6:30 PM.
We look forward to seeing you.
