The Angry Elephant Opens in Cinco Ranch, Bringing Its Politically Inspired Menu and Late-Night Dining to Katy

Katy / Fulshear
October 20 2026

The Angry Elephant officially opened its doors in Cinco Ranch on Monday, October 19, 2026, bringing its politically inspired menu, over-the-top burgers and loaded hot dogs to Katy. Located at 22756 Westheimer Parkway, Suite 100, in Katy, the restaurant and bar brings its signature combination of American comfort food, politically themed menu items and casual neighborhood hospitality to the Cinco Ranch West area.

Known for its unconventional menu and playful approach to American politics, The Angry Elephant isn't a typical sports bar. Its menu features burgers, specialty hot dogs, wings, sandwiches and cocktails, with many dishes named after presidents, politicians and other public figures.

The concept has built a following across Texas by pairing familiar bar food with a sense of humor that doesn't take itself too seriously.

From San Antonio to Katy: The Story Behind The Angry Elephant

The Angry Elephant got its start in San Antonio in 2011, when founder John "Chip" Ingram opened the original location with the idea of creating a neighborhood gathering place where people could enjoy good food, drinks and conversation. The restaurant became the foundation for Ingram Bar Group, which went on to develop other hospitality concepts, including The Roo Pub, The Deuce, Shin-Dig and Wild Boar Saloon.

Today, Ingram Bar Group reports more than 100 employees and 13 active hospitality concepts. The Angry Elephant brand has expanded beyond San Antonio into Bryan, College Station, the Dallas area and Greater Houston. Its Houston-area locations include The Angry Elephant in Magnolia at 7030 FM 1488 and The Angry Elephant in Fairfield at 15103 Mason Road in Cypress. The new Cinco Ranch restaurant gives Katy-area customers another location closer to home.

What's on the Menu at The Angry Elephant in Cinco Ranch?

The Angry Elephant's menu is one of its most recognizable features, mixing traditional American bar favorites with creatively named dishes inspired by politics, pop culture and Texas personalities.

Among the selections on the restaurant's published menu are the Original Trump Cheeseburger, made with a half-pound Akaushi beef patty, cheddar cheese and signature sauce; the Ronald Reagan Burger, topped with blackened shrimp, avocado, pickled jalapeños and blue cheese; and the Teddy Roosevelt Bison Burger, featuring a lean bison patty.

Hot dogs are another specialty, with choices ranging from the Obama Chicago Dog, topped with classic Chicago-style ingredients, to the LBJ Chili Cheese Texas Works Dog, loaded with bacon, chili, cheddar cheese sauce, onions and jalapeños. Other selections include the Ben Franklin Philly Cheese-Steak Dog, the Al Gore Frito Pie Dog and the Biden Breakfast Dog, topped with hash browns, bacon, cheese, an egg and gravy.

For customers who prefer something different, the published menu also includes chicken wings with sauces such as mango habanero, garlic parmesan and gochujang, along with fried pickles, quesadillas, salads, fish tacos, chicken fried steak and fish and chips. Desserts include loaded churros and fried cheesecake bites.

The restaurant's politically inspired names and humorous menu descriptions are part of the brand's identity, although customers don't need an interest in politics to find something familiar to eat. The menu offers everything from a straightforward cheeseburger to more elaborate creations that give first-time visitors something to talk about.

Menu selections are based on The Angry Elephant's supplied October 2025 menu. Individual items, pricing and availability at the new Cinco Ranch location should be confirmed with the restaurant.

The Angry Elephant Cinco Ranch Hours, Location and Age Restrictions

The restaurant announced special opening hours for its first two days, October 19 and 20, from 4 p.m. to midnight. Regular business hours begin Wednesday, October 21, 2026. The Angry Elephant in Cinco Ranch will be open Sunday through Wednesday from 11:00 AM to midnight, and Thursday through Saturday from 11:00 AM to 2:00 AM.

The Angry Elephant also has a 21-and-over age restriction after 9 p.m. every day, an important detail for families planning an evening visit. Earlier hours provide an opportunity for customers of different ages to visit for lunch or dinner, while the later schedule caters to adults looking for food and drinks into the night.

With a spot on Westheimer Parkway in Cinco Ranch West and a kitchen serving until midnight during the week and 2 a.m. on weekends, The Angry Elephant gives Katy residents somewhere to grab a bite long after most neighborhood restaurants have closed.

A New Late-Night Hangout for Cinco Ranch and Katy Residents

Part of The Angry Elephant's appeal is its unusual approach to political conversation. The brand's motto, "Like Your Politics, Love Your Bar," reflects its stated goal of welcoming customers regardless of political affiliation. Its locations also feature televised political debates and elections, making politics part of the atmosphere rather than simply a theme on the menu.

For Cinco Ranch residents, the opening means another locally accessible spot for meeting friends, catching a televised event or enjoying a meal without heading farther into Houston. With weekend hours extending until 2 a.m., The Angry Elephant also fills a late-night dining niche along Westheimer Parkway.
