TerraFlow Energy Breaks Ground on New Katy Headquarters and Manufacturing Facility for Long-Duration Energy Storage

December 09 2025

TerraFlow Energy, a leader in long-duration energy storage innovation, has officially announced plans for a major new facility in Fort Bend County that will serve as its future corporate headquarters and small-scale manufacturing center. The 100,000-square-foot facility, currently under construction at 3127 Greenbusch Rd, Katy, TX 77494, represents a significant step forward in the company’s mission to deliver reliable, scalable clean energy storage solutions across Texas and beyond.

Located in the heart of Katy’s fast-growing energy corridor, the site will dedicate 60,000 square feet to TerraFlow’s operations, including corporate offices, product assembly, and early-stage manufacturing. The remaining 40,000 square feet will be occupied by Storion Energy—a key partner in the advancement of TerraFlow’s proprietary vanadium flow battery systems. The co-location aims to streamline research, production, and deployment of their cutting-edge Long Duration Uninterruptible Power Supply (LDUPS™) technologies.

“This facility represents the next step in TerraFlow’s evolution,” said Jon Parrella, Founder and CEO of TerraFlow Energy. “It’s a space purpose-built for innovation, collaboration, and strategic scale-up as we move closer to commercial deployment of our LDUPS™ and flow battery systems.”

As of two weeks ago, the initial structure for the new office and lab space is being erected. Once complete, the building will house TerraFlow’s 1 MW-capable production pilot with full LDUPS capabilities. This installation is designed to support a growing pipeline of energy storage deployments, including a landmark 9.6 MW, 5-hour project in Bellville, Texas—the first to feature a vanadium electrolyte lease through Storion. Additional smaller-scale projects, totaling more than 120 MW in capacity, are slated to launch in 2026.

The $4.9 million buildout is expected to wrap in early January 2026, marking a fast-moving development timeline. Five pre-engineered metal buildings (A through E) will be built out internally as part of the project, collectively making up the new TerraFlow Greenbush campus.

Though based in Bellville, TerraFlow has already established a collaborative presence in Katy with the opening of a modern office space at Ranch Office. This move, along with the new Greenbush facility, signals the company’s deepening investment in the local business ecosystem and its commitment to innovation within Texas’s energy infrastructure.

“Opening our office in Katy represents a significant step forward for TerraFlow Energy,” Parrella added. “This location will enable us to better engage with the local community and enhance our partnerships. We are committed to supporting Katy’s vision for sustainable growth, and we look forward to contributing to the economic development of this vibrant area.”

The co-location with Storion underscores the strength of their partnership, aimed at enhancing the scale-up of flow battery systems to support grid resilience, peak demand shifting, and power quality management—critical issues as Texas anticipates an additional 152 gigawatts of energy load by 2030.

Manufactured in the U.S. using 100% organically sourced chemicals and free from mined metals or toxic materials, TerraFlow’s batteries are engineered for longevity—lasting between 20,000 and 40,000 cycles. These solutions are ideal for commercial and grid-scale applications where resilience, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness are key.

As Katy continues to attract forward-thinking businesses, TerraFlow’s expansion highlights the region’s emerging status as a hub for energy innovation. With this new headquarters, TerraFlow is poised to play a central role in Texas’s clean energy future.
