Ten CFISD Water Polo Teams Advance to Area Round

Ten CFISD water polo teams advanced past the bi-district round of the Class 6A playoffs and move on to the area round, while the girls’ teams from Cypress Lakes and Langham Creek high schools and the boys’ teams from Bridgeland, Cypress Springs, Cypress Woods and Langham Creek high schools concluded their seasons and finished as bi-district finalists. 

On the girls’ side, Cypress Creek High School defeated Fort Bend Clements, 21-2. The Cougars advance to face Fort Bend Ridge Point at 8:30 a.m. on Oct. 14 at the CFISD Natatorium (12550 Windfern Road). 

Cy-Fair High School defeated Fort Bend Kempner, 22-1. The Bobcats earned a bye in the area round. 

The Cy-Fair girls’ water polo team defeated Fort Bend Kempner in a Class 6A bi-district playoff. The Bobcats earned a bye and are among 10 CFISD teams to advance to the area round. 
 

Jersey Village High School defeated Fort Bend Austin, 16-11. The Falcons advance to face Richmond Foster at 10 a.m. on Oct. 14 at the CFISD Natatorium. 

Cypress Woods High School defeated Fort Bend Travis, 21-8. The Wildcats advance to face George Ranch at 5:30 p.m. on Oct 13 at Fort Bend ISD’s Don Cook Natatorium (16255 Lexington Blvd.). 

The Jersey Village High School boys’ water polo team defeated Fort Bend Clements, 20-7, and advanced to face Fort Bend Hightower in the area round on Oct. 14 at the CFISD Natatorium. 
 

Bridgeland High School received a bi-district bye and will face Pearland Dawson at 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 13 at the Spring Branch ISD Natatorium (10404 Tiger Trail). 

Cypress Ranch High School received a bi-district bye and will face Alvin at 1 p.m. on Oct. 14 at the CFISD Natatorium. 

On the boys’ side, Jersey Village defeated Fort Bend Clements, 20-7. The Falcons advanced to face Fort Bend Hightower at 11:30 a.m. on Oct. 14 at the CFISD Natatorium. 

Cypress Creek defeated Fort Bend Dulles, 17-0. The Cougars advance to face Fort Bend Ridge Point at 10 a.m. on Oct. 14 at the CFISD Natatorium. 

Cy-Fair defeated Fort Bend Elkins, 13-5. The Bobcats advance to face Richmond Foster at 11:30 a.m. on Oct. 14 at the CFISD Natatorium. 

The Cypress Creek High School girls’ water polo team defeated Fort Bend Clements to advance to the area round. The Cougars will face Fort Bend Ridge Point at 8:30 a.m. on Oct. 14 at the CFISD Natatorium. 
 

Cypress Ranch received a bi-district bye and will face Alvin at 2:15 p.m. on Oct. 14 at the CFISD Natatorium. 

Tickets are $5 each for adults and students. Links for games to be played at the CFISD Natatorium can be found on the CFISD Athletics website’s Tickets Page utilizing the Aquatics button. Separate ticket links are available for playoff games on Saturday, Oct. 14.  

The Langham Creek girls were defeated by Spring Branch ISD’s Memorial, 12-5. The Lobos were District 16-6A’s third seed and finished as bi-district finalists. 

The Cypress Lakes girls were defeated by Stratford, 17-7. The Spartans were District 16-6A’s fourth seed and finished as bi-district finalists. 

The Bridgeland boys were defeated by Stratford, 11-4. The Bears were District 16-6A’s second seed and finished as bi-district finalists. 

The Cypress Springs boys were defeated by Memorial, 15-4. The Panthers were District 16-6A’s third seed and finished as bi-district finalists. 

The Langham Creek boys were defeated by Strake Jesuit, 12-1. The Lobos were District 16-6A’s fourth seed and finished as bi-district finalists. 

The Cypress Woods boys were defeated by Fort Bend Travis, 16-11. The Wildcats were District 17-6A’s fourth seed and finished as bi-district finalists.
