Team Mancuso Powersports North Plans Move Up I-45 to Former Porsche Dealership in North Houston
For riders, boaters and off-road enthusiasts across north Houston, Spring and the surrounding communities, a familiar name along Interstate 45 is getting ready for a change of address.
Team Mancuso Powersports North is planning to relocate from its longtime location at 9650 North Freeway to 18111 North Freeway in Houston, where a former Porsche dealership is set to be renovated into a 12,700-square-foot powersports sales and service facility.
Construction filings for the project describe an estimated $700,000 renovation and alteration, with work scheduled to begin Nov. 5, 2026, and reach completion Feb. 19, 2027. The scope calls for remodeling the former automotive dealership for the sale and service of ATVs, ride-on vehicles, jet skis, pontoon boats and motorcycles.
For customers who have known Team Mancuso Powersports North by its current I-45 location for years, the project represents more than a routine remodel. It would move the dealership roughly eight miles north along the freeway and place it closer to the FM 1960, Spring and Cypress Creek areas while giving an older automotive property a new purpose.
A Familiar North Houston Dealership Heads North
Team Mancuso Powersports North currently operates at 9650 North Freeway, Houston, TX 77037.
The dealership has operated there since at least 2012, succeeding the longtime A.J. Foyt Cycles operation associated with the property. Over the years, the location has become familiar to Houston-area motorcycle and powersports customers traveling the North Freeway corridor.
The planned destination at 18111 North Freeway, Houston, TX 77090, has its own history in Houston's automotive community.
Porsche of North Houston operated from the property for years. Records and contemporaneous reports show the dealership at the address as far back as the late 2000s, and indiGO Classic Cars acquired Porsche of North Houston there in January 2010.
The dealership remained at the site for several years before Porsche North Houston moved to a larger campus farther south on the North Freeway.
In 2020, the former Porsche property—then described as a vacant automotive facility—was sold to Sonic Automotive Group, the same company that now owns Team Team Mancuso Powersports. The property was reported at the time as approximately 2.27 acres with an existing dealership building.
That history makes the upcoming remodel something of a full-circle use for the property: a building designed around vehicle sales and service is being prepared once again for customers shopping for machines built for the road, trails and water.
What the New Team Mancuso Powersports North Could Offer
The renovation plans point to a broad mix of recreational vehicles rather than a motorcycle-only showroom.
The project scope specifically identifies ATVs, ride-ons, jet skis, pontoon boats and motorcycles, pairing sales with service operations.
That fits the larger Team Team Mancuso Powersports model. The company says its Houston-area dealerships sell new and pre-owned motorcycles, UTVs, ATVs, personal watercraft and other outdoor power equipment, with brands across the network including Can-Am, Polaris, Honda, Sea-Doo, Slingshot and Suzuki. Its stores also provide parts, accessories, maintenance, financing and trade-in services.
For local customers, that means the relocation could bring a sizable recreational vehicle showroom and service operation to an established commercial stretch of north Houston rather than introducing an entirely new use to a residential area.
The North Freeway corridor has also been seeing additional automotive investment from Mancuso's parent company. Sonic Automotive subsidiary EchoPark Automotive recently relocated its North Houston dealership to 18310 North Freeway, just north of the planned Mancuso location, saying the move was intended to better serve Spring, The Woodlands and greater north Houston.
Team Mancuso's Houston Roots, Backed by a National Retailer
Team Team Mancuso Powersports operates multiple dealerships across the Houston area, serving customers from communities including Cypress, Katy, Spring and Alvin. The company describes its business as centered on motorcycles, off-road vehicles, marine products and outdoor power equipment.
Behind the local Mancuso name is Sonic Automotive, one of the country's larger automotive and powersports retailers.
Founded in 1966, Sonic has grown into a national company with more than 11,000 employees and approximately 145 locations across 90 cities in 21 states. Its portfolio includes traditional franchised dealerships, EchoPark Automotive and Sonic Powersports operations.
Sonic Automotive was also named among Newsweek's 2026 Most Trustworthy Companies in America, with the company reporting that it was the only automotive retailer included among the 24 honorees in the publication's Automotive and Components category.
While those national numbers are substantial, the Mancuso name has a much more local footprint for Houston-area riders who have purchased motorcycles, brought ATVs in for service or stopped by looking for the next vehicle for a weekend on the trails or water.
What Happens Next
The construction timeline currently calls for renovation work at 18111 North Freeway to begin Nov. 5, 2026, with completion anticipated by Feb. 19, 2027.
As with any construction project, schedules can change, and an official opening date for Team Mancuso Powersports North at the new location has not yet been announced.
Until the relocation takes place, Team Mancuso continues to list 9650 North Freeway as the address for TMP North.
For north Houston residents, however, the filing offers an early look at what appears to be the next chapter for a dealership that has spent well over a decade along the North Freeway: a move farther north, a remodeled showroom with its own automotive history and a broader destination for everything from motorcycles and ATVs to jet skis and pontoon boats.
