Spurs Give and Frost Bank Offering Up to $100,000 in Operation Renovation Grants for San Antonio Youth Organizations
For San Antonio nonprofits that serve children and teenagers, having a safe, welcoming place to learn, play and build relationships can make a meaningful difference. Now, two longtime Texas organizations are offering financial support to help improve those spaces, continuing a partnership that has already invested more than $1.3 million in local youth-serving organizations.
Spurs Give and Frost Bank have opened applications for the 2026-27 Operation Renovation grant program, offering eligible local organizations the opportunity to receive up to $100,000 for facility renovations. Applications are being accepted through Friday, December 18, 2026, at 11:59 p.m.
The initiative is designed to help organizations create and improve environments where young people can feel supported, develop new skills and connect with their communities. For nonprofits working with limited budgets, funding for building improvements can also help them direct more of their existing resources toward the families they serve.
Operation Renovation Continues Nearly a Decade of Investment in San Antonio Youth
Now entering its ninth year, Operation Renovation has become an established part of Spurs Give and Frost Bank's community investment efforts.
Since the 2018-19 season, the program has awarded more than $1.3 million to 15 local youth-serving organizations, supporting improvements to facilities that provide important services and opportunities for children and families.
“Everyone deserves spaces where they feel welcome, supported and connected to their community,” said Julie McCarty, Associate Vice President of Community Investments for Spurs Sports & Entertainment (SS&E). “As we enter our ninth year of Operation Renovation with Frost, we’re proud to support local organizations that do so much for San Antonio families and help improve the spaces they rely on every day.”
The grants focus on physical improvements, recognizing that the condition and functionality of a facility can influence the experiences of the people who use it. Whether an organization provides educational enrichment, recreational opportunities or family support services, having an appropriate space is an important part of delivering those programs.
Previous Grants Supported Two San Antonio Nonprofits Serving Families
The impact of Operation Renovation can be seen in its most recent grant recipients.
During the 2025-26 program cycle, Empower House and Good Samaritan Community Services received a combined $200,000 to strengthen the facilities and resources they use to support San Antonio residents.
Empower House works with families across San Antonio's East and West sides. While the organization is known for its reproductive health work, its broader mission includes providing support and resources that help women and families navigate challenges and build stronger futures.
Good Samaritan Community Services has a particularly long history in San Antonio. As one of the West Side's longest-serving nonprofit organizations, it works with youth, individuals and families in economically disadvantaged neighborhoods, providing services intended to help residents overcome poverty and expand opportunities.
Both organizations illustrate the range of community needs addressed by local nonprofits, from supporting young people to helping families find greater stability.
Their selection also reflects the broader purpose of Operation Renovation: investing in the places where community organizations carry out their work.
Spurs Give and Frost Bank Bring Longstanding Texas Roots to the Partnership
Operation Renovation combines the community outreach efforts of the San Antonio Spurs organization with the resources of one of Texas' longstanding financial institutions.
Spurs Give, the official 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization of Spurs Sports & Entertainment, was founded in 1988 and has invested $34 million in the community since its establishment.
The organization uses sports, partnerships, grants and community impact programs to create opportunities for young people and families. Its work is rooted in the belief that sports can bring people together around shared goals while helping young people develop confidence and hope for the future.
That connection to San Antonio extends beyond basketball. Through initiatives such as Operation Renovation, Spurs Give supports organizations whose work reaches families in neighborhoods throughout the city.
Frost Bank brings an even longer Texas history to the partnership. Founded in 1868, Frost provides banking, investment, wealth management and insurance services to individuals and businesses across the state.
The company operates in the San Antonio, Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, Gulf Coast and Permian Basin regions. Frost is a subsidiary of Cullen/Frost Bankers, Inc., one of the nation's 50 largest banks, with approximately $54.5 billion in assets as of September 30, 2026.
Together, the two organizations have sustained Operation Renovation across multiple grant cycles, providing a source of facility improvement funding for nonprofits that serve San Antonio's next generation.

What Happens Next for Operation Renovation in San Antonio?
With applications open through December 18, the coming weeks offer local nonprofits an opportunity to consider whether planned facility improvements could qualify for support.
For San Antonio families, the program represents another way local partnerships can strengthen the community resources they depend on. Improvements to a nonprofit's facilities may not always attract the same attention as a new building or major development, but they can make an important difference in the everyday experiences of children, parents and staff.
As Operation Renovation enters its ninth year, its continued investment in San Antonio youth-serving organizations reflects a commitment to the community spaces where learning, relationships and opportunities take shape.
