Spring ISD's Beneke Elementary School to Host Solar Eclipse Day with Special Events
Beneke Elementary School of Spring ISD is gearing up to host a thrilling and educational Solar Eclipse Day set for Monday, April 8. The event, with exciting activities scheduled from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., is designed to provide students with a unique, immersive experience into the captivating world of cosmic events.
The Solar Eclipse Day looks forward to offering a well-rounded program entailing educational lessons, interactive workshops dedicated to solar science, and a range of outdoor activities. Students will have a chance to learn and play, all while enjoying a once-in-a-lifetime celestial spectacle.
Apart from the educational lessons, the event will offer hands-on workshops, enabling students to delve deeper into solar science and engage in eclipse-related creative projects, tailored according to their grade-levels. The goal? To spark inquisitiveness and enhance scientific understanding while still having fun.
One of the key highlights of the day includes a live observation of the solar eclipse itself. Students will be given access to safe viewing methods, including solar glasses and pinhole projectors, assuring both the excitement and safety of the students. Outdoor games, along with lunch and other activities, promise an enjoyable spring day out on the school grounds for all attendees.
Spring ISD Superintendent Dr. Lupita Hinojosa and Beneke Elementary Principal Julie Smith will spearhead the event. Students and staff of Spring ISD are cordially invited to the Solar Eclipse Day.
Located at 3840 Briarchase Drive, Beneke Elementary School is thrilled to be the venue for a day filled with fun, learning, and the magic of astronomy. Spring ISD families and staff, don't forget to mark your calendars!
