Soccer Postseason Begins for 12 CFISD Teams
The District 16-6A and District 17-6A soccer seasons concluded March 10, with the top four boys’ and girls’ teams on each side qualifying for the UIL playoffs that begin March 23.
In 16-6A, Bridgeland High School claimed the girls’ championship, finishing with 40 points to go into the postseason as the district’s top seed. Cypress Ranch High School placed second with 34 points, while Cypress Woods High School earned 32 points to finish third. Langham Creek High School claimed the fourth seed with 24 points.
- Bridgeland will meet Tomball Memorial at 7 p.m. on March 24 at Cy-Fair FCU Stadium (8877 Barker Cypress Road);
- Cypress Ranch will play Klein at 7 p.m. on March 24 at Tomball ISD Stadium (20235 Cypress Rosehill Road);
- Cypress Woods will face Klein Oak at 7 p.m. on March 24 at Tomball High School (30330 Quinn Road); and
- Langham Creek will clash with Tomball at 7 p.m. on March 23 at Langham Creek High School (17610 FM 529).
On the boys’ side, Cypress Woods claimed the District 16-6A championship with 28 points, giving the Wildcats the top district seed. Cypress Lakes High School finished with 27 points to earn the second seed while Cypress Springs High School finished with 24 points to take the third seed.Langham Creek claimed the fourth seed with 23 points.
- Cypress Woods will face Klein Cain at 8 p.m. on March 23 at Cy-Fair FCU Stadium;
- Cypress Lakes will play Klein Forest at 7:30 p.m. on March 23 at Ken Pridgeon Stadium (11355 Falcon Road);
- Cypress Springs will meet Waller at 7:30 p.m. on March 24 at Cypress Ranch High School (10700 Fry Road); and
- Langham Creek will clash with Tomball at 7:30 p.m. on March 24 at Cy-Fair High School (22602 Northwest Freeway).
In District 17-6A, the Cy-Fair High School girls placed second with 31 points while Cypress Creek High School placed fourth with 26 points. Spring Branch ISD’s Stratford High School finished in first place, while Memorial High School finished third.
- Cy-Fair will face Houston Heights at 5:30 p.m. on March 24 at Ken Pridgeon Stadium; and
- Cypress Creek will play Houston Bellaire at 5:30 p.m. on March 24 at HISD’s Butler Stadium (13755 Main Street).
On the boys’ side, Cypress Ridge High School claimed the district championship with 38 points while Cypress Creek finished with 23 points to take third place. Spring Branch ISD’s Memorial High School finished second, and Northbrook High School finished fourth.
The following bi-district pairings are set for this week:
- Cypress Ridge will face Houston Heights at 7 p.m. on March 24 at Jersey Village High School (7600 Solomon Street); and
- Cypress Creek will meet Houston Bellaire at 7 p.m. on March 23 at Cypress Creek High School (9815 Grand Road).
Tickets for all playoff games will be sold online for $5 apiece (adults and students). CFISD host sites will also sell tickets at the gate for cash only.
