Sleep Under the Stars Close to Home: Registration Opens Soon for City of Katy's Fall Community Campout

August 23 2024

Embrace the change of season and the spirit of community at the City of Katy's Fall Community Campout, a much-anticipated annual event hosted by the City of Katy Parks and Recreation Department.

Located in the heart of Katy at VFW Park, this event promises a night filled with classic outdoor fun, community bonding, and the simple magic that comes with sleeping under the stars. The Fall Community Campout is set to start on Friday, November 15, with camp set-up beginning at 4 PM. By 9 AM the following morning, the community campout will break.

Completely free of charge, the event includes an outdoor movie guaranteed to entertain all ages, a delicious dinner, the quintessential campfire treat of s'mores, and a light breakfast sponsored by Southern Dough – the perfect way to start your Saturday morning.

Remember to pack your tent, sleeping bags, and any additional sleeping necessities. Attendees are welcome to bring their own food and drinks to suit specific dietary needs or preferences, but please note that alcohol is not permitted. As an event designed for tents, campers or trailers are not allowed, nor is electricity provided. Public restrooms, however, are readily available for convenience and comfort.

Note that children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the event. Furry friends will need to stay home, as no pets are permitted at this event.
