See Earth, Wood and Fire+ in Bosque Gallery “Elements” Art Exhibition Opening Feb. 29

February 22 2024

Local artist Tiffany Heng-Hui Lee is bringing the abstract wonders of the natural universe right into our reach with her new spring exhibition, "Elements", at Lone Star College-CyFair’s Bosque Gallery from Feb. 29-April 11. Lee's showcase will feature hanging sculptures and mixed-media paper collages, each inspired by one of the five elements - wood, fire, earth, metal, and water.

With over three decades of interior design experience, Lee bridges the gap between interior design and art, creating pieces that not only display beauty but also carry a message. Her work, she asserts, aims to take viewers "closer to nature, creating a feeling of peace and joy within" and involves them as participants rather than mere spectators.

Born in Taipei, Taiwan, Lee immigrated to the United States at the tender age of eighteen and since then, has honed her abilities as a multidisciplinary artist. She possesses a diverse portfolio, encompassing abstract and mixed-media creations, paper-based collages, sculptures, jewelry, and paintings. Her professional background as a corporate interior designer lends depth to her artwork - utilizing elements of color, lines, shapes, textures, and materials to produce pieces that resonate with the viewer.

A graduate from the University of Houston with a Master of Fine Arts degree, Lee was mentored by Richard Stout, an exceptional artist and instructor, who pushed her towards demanding nothing less than excellence in her work. Her art, which juxtaposes the changing and unstable characteristics of nature with the fragmentation and uncertainty of life, invites viewers to form personal interpretations based on their own experiences and preferences.

Lee's paper collages have been acclaimed, exhibiting in numerous juried exhibitions and selected by prestigious curators including Alison de Lima Greene, Isabel Brown Curator of Modern Contemporary Art at the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston.

Don't miss the opportunity to meet Lee in person and learn more about her journey as an artist at the opening reception complete with live music and refreshments on Feb. 29 at 6:30 p.m., and later at the Library Artist Talk on March 27 at 1:30 p.m. For more information on the exhibition and gallery hours, visit LoneStar.edu/BosqueGallery.
