SBB Management Joins Annual Trash Bash and Houston Food Bank to Support Houston Communities

April 01 2025

On Saturday, March 29, 2025, team members from SBB Management, the management company that proudly serves Nottingham Country CIA, gathered at Mason Park in East Houston to participate in the River, Lakes, Bays ‘N Bayous Trash Bash®, the largest single-day waterway cleanup event in Texas. Joining a team organized by the CAI Greater Houston Outreach Committee, this year’s Trash Bash marked its 31st anniversary and brought together thousands of volunteers committed to preserving the health of the Galveston Bay Watershed.

The Galveston Bay Watershed spans over 24,000 square miles and affects nearly two-thirds of Texas’ population, including millions of residents in the Greater Houston area. As the most productive estuary in Texas, Galveston Bay supports commercial fisheries, recreation, and vital ecosystems that impact the region’s economy and quality of life. Maintaining clean waterways is essential to ensuring safe water, storm resilience, and a thriving coastal environment.

Armed with gloves, grabbers, and a shared mission, SBB Management volunteers joined fellow Houstonians in removing litter and debris from local bayous and greenspaces—efforts that directly contribute to a cleaner, more sustainable watershed.

A Culture of Service That Extends Beyond the Office

Earlier in the same weekend, the SBB team also volunteered at the Houston Food Bank, where they worked in the Protein Pack Room to sort and box up 3,456 pounds of food—enough to provide 2,880 meals for families across the region.

“It’s incredible what we can accomplish when community management professionals come together for causes bigger than ourselves,” said one SBB team member. “These opportunities to give back remind us why we love being part of Greater Houston and surrounding areas.”

Since its inception in 1994, the Trash Bash program has removed more than 2,400 tons of trash, including 11,965 tires, and has drawn over 117,000 volunteers to action—demonstrating the powerful impact of community-wide environmental service.

Supporting Cleaner Communities, One Project at a Time

The Trash Bash initiative is led by the Texas Conservation Fund, with coordination from the Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC) and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). As Houston’s communities continue to grow, efforts like these are vital to protecting public health, natural resources, and long-term sustainability.

“At SBB, we believe in being more than just community managers—we’re neighbors, too,” said a company representative. “We take pride in being involved in the very communities we help manage, and initiatives like Trash Bash and volunteering at the Food Bank allow us to do just that.”

SBB Management’s involvement in local service projects is just one way they show their commitment to the neighborhoods they serve—like Nottingham Country, where they’re proud to support the community both behind the scenes and out in the field.
